  3. North Of Niederaula, 1987

    Summer, 1987

Another Cold War 1987 scenario.  This is set on the Fulda-Bad Hersfeld map.

A Soviet division, together with East German NVA (Nationale Volksarmee) support has taken Bad Hersfeld during the prior day.  Now that night has fallen, intelligence from headquarters says that a tank company with mechanized support is rolling down the valley toward Niederaula, while a smaller force probes the valley to your east...Unless they're wrong?

You lead the battered remnants of the 11th ACR's 2nd squadron.  Help is on the way, if you can hold them off long enough.
Your opponent has superior firepower, and heavy armor in numbers, but you have superior night vision technology.

This is designed to be played as an easy to moderate difficulty cooperative scenario, with a group of 2-4 players commanding various platoons.  Much of the action is going to be based on finding good spots for your dismounts and other anti-tank assets to ambush the enemy, and you have recon assets on hand to find those locations.

It is possible to play as a single player.

Have a plan in mind to deal with unforeseen circumstances.

  4. WAR OF THE PACIFIC - PART TWO: BOLIVIA-CHILE

THE WAR OF THE PACIFIC - PART TWO:   BOLIVIA - CHILE
    by Connaugh

The War of the Pacific, also known as the Saltpeter War was between Chile on one side and a Bolivian-Peruvian alliance on the other. It lasted from 1879 to 1884, and was fought over Chilean claims on coastal Bolivian territory in the Atacama Desert. The war ended with victory for Chile, which gained a significant resource-rich territory from Peru and Bolivia. However, Bolivia retains the policy of a territorial claim of a sovereign outlet to the Pacific Ocean and the armed forces carry the slogan "The sea is our right. To recover it is a must".

    SITUATION:

Bolivia has invaded Chile in an attempt to regain the lost territory from the 1879 War. Bolivian Armored Forces crossed the border in a blitzkrieg with the goal of occupying the port city of Antofagasta. Chilean forces have been forced to retreat from the cities of San Pedro de Atacama, Cerro Pular, San Francisco de Chiu Chiu, Calama, and Sierra Gorda.

    MISSION:

Chilean Armored Columns are to advance to Antofagasta and defend the city.
Next, an advance to take back the lost cities and drive the Bolivians out of Chile.

    EXECUTION:

A and B Companies will advance to Antofagasta and defend the city.
A Company will then recapture Carmen Alto, Sierra Gorda, Maria Elena, and Calama.
B Company will then recapture San Cristobal and Cerro Pular.
The two forces will then combine to recapture San Pedro de Atacama and San Francisco de Chiu Chiu.

    FORCE COMPOSITION:

    A Company:    2 x Leopard 2A4 Platoons,  1 Marder 1A3 Platoon
    B Company:    2 x Leopard 2A4 Platoons,  1 Marder 1A3 Platoon

CSS of Repair, Medical, and Supply will accompany each force.
2 Artillery Batteries of 6 tubes each will be available.

Bolivian forces include TAM VC tanks, Centauros, and M113 PC's and Infantry with anti-tank weapons.

    Artillery is expected.
Message that an objective is captured will be generated.

  13. CG07 Island Liberation

    Part 1 of 2

Excerpts of the battalion commander's orders for... CG7 Island Liberation  May 2018 4.00AM
Visibility initially hazy but quickly burning off to 3000 m plus
    1) SITUATION:
Following the collapse of the mainland government, rebels have seized government military assets and declared independance. However the uprising lacks popular support being largely instigated by Russia who seeks a futher Mediterranean port. Whilst local rebel forces are equipped with T 62 and older equipment they have suddenly acquired a good number of more modern T 72, crewed and supported by 'volunteers'.
A US led Taskforce has arrived off the Island with the intention of restoring Government control. A depth bridghead is to be created before additonal enemy forces can consolidate their hold on the Island
        a)Enemy:
Whilst local rebel forces are equipped with T62 and older equipment they have suddenly acquired a good number of more modern T72m4 crewed and supported by 'volunteers'.
The newer equipment is based in the Eastern side of the Island and may take a little time to deploy at least part
of the force to our AO. Immediate opposition is expected to be the local breakway rebel forces and irregulars.
Estimated the Rebel forces have approx 2 Coy T62, supported by up to a Coy of BMD with independant Infantry teams around the objectives and other built up areas.
As this is a loosely organized Rebel force precise organisational details have been hard to come by

  17. Counter Stroke at Hunfeld 4.1

This is an update of an older scenario for use with 4.162.  This uses the Haune Valley map which is a Delta Map of the Hunfeld map.  I believe that this is currently available and currently part of the standard maps package.  This particular scenario points, for some reason, to a delta map.  I've included it with the scenario just in case you need it.

Soviet forces have made an attack across the inner-German border, only to be halted within a day by fierce resistance from German units fighting for their own territory, rapidly scatterable mines, and a superior NATO air force.  NATO forces will now attempt to breach their own minefields and strike against the Warsaw Pact forces before they can regroup.

    Playable vehicles for Blue include:
    M60A3 TTS
    Marder 1A3
    Leopard 2A4
Numerous supporting assets, including FIST-V (AI will not call for fire on it's own)

Blue forces are responsible for conducting their own recon, planning and executing a breach, and capturing two objectives in a limited amount of time.
It is possible for a single player to complete this mission, with the help of some scripting in the planning stage, however I suggest that you play with at least two players, one of which you'll probably want to assign as an artillery observer.

In order to increase your chances of getting through the mines, the field has been broken up into several smaller ones to allow you to establish several lanes.
Be sure to use your artillery to assist in breaking through here.

  21. Tank Company in Attack(2.654)

A Tank Company attack mission with variable enemy.

Your Tank Company, with attached mech inf platoon and artillery support is attacking in meeting engagement against a strong enemy. To win, you need to coordinate the attack well and concentrate the company's fire against the enemies in order to maintain fire superiority and momentum, as well as to keep casualties low. The OPFOR and terrain are created with training value in mind - keeping it cool and using the company well will bring in results. Going gung ho may end up nasty.

5 scenario files included, with different blue and red force equipment and difficulty:
    - Strv 122 + CV9040, easy
    - Leopard 2A5 + CV9035, easy
    - Leopard 2A4 + CV9030, medium
    - M1 + M2, hard
    - T-72M1 + BTR-80, sadistic

Remember to strike with a fist, not poke with fingers! The mission will end if you lose half your units...

This mission was originally created for ARRC basic drill, found it and updated to PE 2.6xx.

  24. CG14 Plug The Zierow Gap v1 for 4.023

Excerpts of the battalion commander's orders for...  CG14 Plug The Zierow Gap
    1) SITUATION:  April 2003 8AM
        a) Enemy:
Enemy Forces have forced their way through the Zierow Gap to the West using the only 2 major roads passing through the Gap - Routes 23 and 24.
Being the Larger road Route 24 is likely to have more traffic entering your AO
Other smaller routes are being untilised so not all enemy are on these routes. However their main force will use these roads in subsequent days
Some units are already through and spreading out as a shield for following forces.
Mainly T80 and some T90 with BMP3 support have been reported by Air Recon with a forward screen of Recon and Inf

        b) Own:
All we have been able to scrape together is 2 x PLT Leo 2A6, 1 xPLT CV 90-40 (Inf and by some miracle we have rustled up some Javelins!).
Another 1 x PLT of Leo 2A6 is en route

        c) Attachments and detachments: 1 x ARV, 1 x Ambulance, Supply, and 1 X 6 gun battery of fire support
Command are going to try to airlift 2 x AT (TOW) teams in to your AO and will advise if available. These might be useful to protect vulnerable flanks.

    2) MISSION:
You need to Occupy the marked Objectives which are the road exits from the Zierow Gap - even if some enemy forces are bypassed to do so
However only do so if you will not be engaged from the rear
