  1. Correct event time: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?iso=20160320T19 Unfortunately I find that I am unable to edit the manning list because apparently posts made before the website change cannot be edited. So I will put up a new manning list later today or tomorrow. Why do people have to try and fix things that aren't broken????
  2. HI Grenny. MD tells me you can host this. That's good 'cos we won't have Crusty's or Dr Hat's servers available. I will send you a link to the .sce file tomorrow. Currently trying to sort out the callsigns.
  3. MANNING LIST Please excuse unconventional c/s system but I can't seem to get the platoons to start with x1 rather than x0. 6 Leo 2A4 C.O TJAY 0B Leo 2A4 XO 10 Leo 2A4 O/C 1 Plt SWORDSMAN 11 12 13 Plt Sgt 20 Leo 2A4 O/C 2 Plt 21 22 23 Plt Sgt 40 CV9030-Fi O/C 4 Plt Reserved for KT pending confirmation 41 42 43 Plt Sgt
  4. BRIEFING 1. SITUATION a. Enemy forces Intelligence estimates RED comprises a reinforced T-72M1 equipped tank battalion (TB) operating as a forward detachment (FD) for its parent regiment. In its role as FD the TB may be reinforced by a motorised rifle company, self-propelled artillery (SPA) battalion, engineer platoon, chemical reconnaissance platoon and self-propelled anti-aircraft artillery section. The FD may have up to 18 tubes from its attached SPA battalion and off-map Regimental Artillery Group firing in support. We believe the FD will advance from the north east and attempt to seize CAUSEWAY to allow the regiment to advance unhindered and capture TOWN. It is likely, if CAUSEWAY is successfully seized, that the FD will continue into our depth to cut off or capture TOWN ahead of the regiment. b. Friendly forces You command a combat team (CT) consisting of a squadron of Leo 2A4DK and cavalry section of four CV9030-Fi for reconnaissance and screening. The RED axis of advance has taken our forces by surprise and your CT has been rushed ahead of the battle group (BG) to delay the RED advance until BG is able to come up and defend TOWN. Brigade's intent is to establish a line of defence at RIVER and a successful defence of CAUSEWAY should make this possible. To assist you a combat engineer section from BG is laying a disrupt effect minefield in front of CAUSEWAY. Due to the rushed nature of our advance the engineers require another hour to complete laying the minefield. They will then withdraw west across CAUSEWAY to regain BG. You should attempt to hold RED at RIVER but if this is not possible you must prevent them advancing west as far as MARS to allow advance elements of BG to march east and establish defensive positions immediately behind your CT, in line with MARS. Failure to do so will render the defence of TOWN untenable and risks BG being engaged prematurely during its march east. Two troops of four M777 155 mm howitzers each firing ICM, HE and Smoke natures are assigned in support. Callsign 19 has first priority for fires followed by callsigns 18 and 31 (refer 5. b.). 2. MISSION Protect the combat engineers operating in front of CAUSEWAY from observation and direct fires so that they can complete their task. Hold RED advance at RIVER but if this is not possible, prevent RED from crossing MARS until BG can establish defensive positions east of TOWN. 3. EXECUTION Establish a defence of CAUSEWAY at RIVER. Units may proceed east of CAUSEWAY but must not cross limit of advance (LOA) SATURN. Ensure combat engineers operating in front of CAUSEWAY are protected from observation and direct fire so they can successfully complete their disrupt effect minefield. A
  5. WARNING ORDER Where: TS Server: teamspeak3.i3d.net:10077 When: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?iso=20160320T19&p1=1486 UKA will be running Panzer Leader's CT Heavy Delay mission this coming Sunday. We did this a few weeks ago and failed to successfully break contact and withdraw as per the briefing. So that will be the focus of the mission this time around.
  6. Regular visitors to this section of the SB forum, especially those who have taken part in UK Armour missions over the past few weeks, can’t have failed to notice the enormous amount of work put in by Swordsman and his team in producing exciting and innovative new types of mission. In recognition of their work and enthusiasm – not to mention some ambitious plans for the future - these missions will from now on be posted under the banner of Kanium, which reflects the name of the Teamspeak server provided by Dr Hat, who also hosts the missions. UK Armour will therefore revert to hosting ‘conventional’ AI missions drawn from the extensive library available in the Downloads section. This move has been amicably agreed by myself and Swordsman, and we will coordinate dates to ensure no ‘double booking’. This means that Kanium and UKA sessions may occasionally move from the current Sunday evening slot. Arrangements will be made on an ad hoc basis but with plenty of notice.
  7. Unfortunately I have to pull out of this mission as I'm now not going to be home in time for the 18:00 start.
  8. Delighted to see it went so well, and I look forward to the next one. Unfortunately I suffered a CTD about 30min in. :icon_frown:
  9. Many tnx Colebrook. I think there are plenty of people who feel the same. I hope you enjoy this first mission and will stay on to play the rest of the campaign.
  10. I think if you had been present at some of the 'misunderstandings' (read deliberately engineered confrontations over nothing at all) that I have experienced in my relatively short time as part of the SB community, you wouldn't say that - not even as a joke. As Swordsman says 'Back to the mission'.
  11. Hi Bond Villain Thanks for taking my question at face value and supplying a comprehensive answer. I really appreciate you staying up 'til 3 am to play. Go easy on the paving on the day, otherwise you may be sound asleep at that time. And PLEASE don't break your back!! Best wishes Tjay
  12. It has been suggested to me privately that this question could be interpreted in a negative fashion and runs the danger of people reading things into it that are not intended. However, I have known Connaugh and Renders for a while now and am confident that they won't do that. But if anyone else has doubts, I'd like to repeat that this is a genuine, honest question. It is always good to see new players joining UKA sessions, and if this type of mission attracts 'new blood' then we will discuss doing more of them. Hope that makes everything quite clear.
  13. Interesting to see that the introduction of a human element on the Red side has resulted in three guys who haven't attended our sessions before wishing to take part in this mission as part of Opfor. Please be assured you are very welcome but I'm genuinely interested in why.
  14. Agree 100%. I always try to use the vehicle to support my infantry as closely as I can. Not that I know much about RL practice, but it makes for exciting gameplay - and looks good in the movies.
  15. Good point. Perhaps it is 4 NLAW total for the two fire teams. I will check.
  16. The word from KT is: Our teams now have both 5,56 and 7,62 ammo so we actually still have a MG team. We just can't shoot the weapon ourselves (as with a proper MG team), but suppress works well enough. So each team is now equipped with 1 x 7.62MG and 2-3 5.56 rifles, 1 NLAW ready and 4 in reserve.
  17. If you have not previously played online against other humans, be prepared for a nasty shock. :clin:
  18. I am not the right person to write the Narrative AAR as 3plt was not really in the main battle. Grenny, may I ask you to pen a few lines describing the action? Many thanks.
  19. The aar shows a Blue-on-Blue from me that killed your driver. I don't remember taking a single shot from 3 Plt initial position and Wiglif confirms that. Also, the shot was right across our front line on a bearing of approx 160deg and 3Plt's right limitation of fire was 100deg as we were on the left flank. But the aar cannot lie (I'm told) so please accept my apologies. Must have got momentarily disorientated.
