  2. -1 You know how to push the wrong buttons mate. You are not helping with supporting an open and transparent communication between esim and the users... esim with their best intentions giving insights into their work and they go beyond what many companies would do for their customers to provide us with as much information as possible. If you prefer only to know when a patch or release truly come out it is better if you follow the standard sales pages to see public patch releases when they come out.

Fully understand the constraints but inevitably it points towards an upgrade in the graphics engine and use lawyer directx or Vulcan as well as offloading parts to a different cpu using one of the new frameworks that makes it somewhat easier to handle multi threading. Sorry to to say this but it sounds like the current engine is in its last leg as there isn’t much coming in terms of increase in CPU speed/cycles and cpu manufacturers has taken the consequence moving towards more cores. have you considered crowd funding for a new initiative and to increase the market segment through means of such as graded realism in order to get more people interested? It could be a win/win if executed well.... just a thought. i have considered myself to do a partially open sourced based simulator supporting modding and as such open up for a whole new range of options, greater variety and as such a broader market while still enabling hard core vehicle simulations.
  4. ...... Try and read one more time what ssnake wrote. Once the terrain upgrade is completed it would be interesting to see if importing assets could be considered so it is easier. That would truly open up great opportunities for modelling real world scenarios even better.

  7. I don't think it happens on every page refresh but several times a day. It seems to have coincided with the latest update to the page somehow. I see because I use the Chrome extension 'Page monitor' to detect news updates. It throws it a few times every day the last few days. I am using Chrome Version 58.0.3029.110 (64-bit).
  8. The ground cover is a real killer for framerates. Turning that up eats all the fps very quickly. I got hundreds of hours in ARMA 3 but it doesn't provide proper tank simulation.
  9. great with all the fixes. Still hope that gradually we will seen an improvement in graphics. Having a 12 core CPU@4.5Ghz + a 1080TI and getting 30fps is a shame. I appreciate the reality aspect of the sim (that's the primary reason I had Steel Beasts the last ten years or so) but hardly seeing any improvements in visuals is starting to be a shame. I think improving graphics could attract new gamers. Look at a game like Squad that managed to get crowdfunding and is quite successful now.
  10. Sbpro 4 running at 3440x1440 and almost all settings maxed out I get ~35% use of my gpu. My CPU has one core maxed out and a secondary core ~30-40% use. If you can get a CPU to overclock to 5ghz it may be your best bet for improving fps.
  11. Hi, Is it possible to import custom objects such as houses? I would really like to vary the houses in the sim to provide some more variation. I've searched the forum but so far haven't come across any guidelines. Cheers

  15. got the upgrade license! thanks Feel a bit let down that after not knowing what the pixie question was about and submitting a guess, that a hint was given that makes it super easy to find out now but people are not allowed to submit a new guess once this hint was released...
  16. +1. Small maps but intense gameplay and great physics. Steel Fury with the STA 2.0 mod is great if you are into WW2.

  18. I use an LG monitor running 3440x1440 and it works perfectly. Now I'd like to learn how I can use my old/secondary monitor to display other things. I saw somebody mentioning that he had the map displayed here while playing but I have not yet found any documentation on how this can be setup and I could not find anything in the standard menus inside the sim.
  19. Does the new graphics engine allow running more things in parallel? As you say there is nothing in sight for increase mhz but we get more and more cores in the machines. Some graphic engines like Cryengine now utilise CPUs very well. Also many things can be offloaded to GPUs these day; For instance the unity engine now allows much faster gpu rendering of similar objects/textures - something that SB has a lot of. Also I wonder if sbpro 3 still draw objects despite they are visible? I tried to load up a finish map. I'm guessing but I think that because the map is fairly dense in terms of houses, train lines, etc. that the fps went down to 15-20fps despite nothing was directly visible apart from the trees around me.
  20. Just want to chime in and say that I reckon Ssnake is doing a very good job at communicate everything that is happening which helps promote transparency and communication. If people don't understand how software development takes place and they find it unbelivable that last minute issues are common on projects then they are better off just go away and check the esims web site for when 4.0 will be officially on sale. The forum here gives us a unique insight into what is taking place and the ability for some Q&A, feedback and wishes. Thumbs up to the guys here in the forum that continue to provide updates, lots of videos to show features, etc. Have a great weekend
  21. Does anybody know if the delay of high res landscapes mean we will not see any terrain improvements (like the corrected roads on slopes, etc).
  22. awesome, awesome, awesome news!! I can't even remember when I bought SBPro the first time. Must be over 10 years ago. I got surprised when I saw that if the USBstick breaks my license is gone... Would be happy to pay well for a DX11/DX12 version as soon as possible....
  23. I am running Windows 8.1, no issues related to this from what I can see.
  24. I had a few crashes earlier but believe it was more from stressing the cpu, added water cooling and upgrade graphics card. Since then no crashes. I had expected to get better fps but in maps with forest areas, hills I may get all the way down to 30fps with only minor difference when changing resolution. Example mission: Single\PzGreen Assult(Leo2A4): I get around 32fps with one CPU around 90% while the GPU is hardly used. Graphics: HDR blooming 0, AA: 2 shadow: 5, vol clouds 1 Terrain details: General: 85, Ground: 52, Ground cover: 52 If I change terrain details to max fps drops to around 24fps. I could not see any visual change in load on the GPU (using MSI afterburner), so it is as if the graphics are handled by the CPU and not GPU very much? I am curious as to whether this is just how Steel beasts works. I have not gone back to the older 32bit version as I don't want to try and refresh the license CM stick and mess up something while I run this x64 beta version. My machine spec is I7-920 @ 4Ghz, MSI Geforce GTX980 Gaming overclocked, 8Gb 1600mhz mem. The licence appear to finish in 67 days from today. I hope we will see a public beta soon as x64 is a great step forward for Steel Beasts.
