  1. Falcon 5.0, with a full Dynamic Campaign from the beginning,
  2. B-GL-309-006/FT-001 First Clash was required reading when I was a subaltern and I think I was issued a copy shortly after meeting the Adjt. When B-GL-309-007/FT-001 Counterstrike was published I read it, not as good, probably because of the change to Fantasians from Soviet. Timing was fortuitous, was getting ready for Staff College, otherwise I would not have read it I assume. Interest in it was minimal I think. Neither book was as well recieved in the CAF as outside. That trend continues, more recently, Crisis in Zefra was panned in the Army but the USMC ordered more copies than the CA in one single order.
  3. Does anyone have a TO&E for a mid 80's Panzer Grenadier battalion?
  4. Hmm, towed artillery..M777?
  5. More of an unarmed ISTAR platform
  6. +1 Great idea, I hope that is the way you go.
  7. I thought that was quite a good movie, saw it when I was going through the recruiting process on Beta!
  8. That top photo looks familiar, was that the Leo C2 Lav III combat team tactic trials in Wainwright about 17 years ago?
  9. Thanks for the invite. 9'er domestic has some ideas for Sunday assuming the weather is good so hope for rain....🤨
  10. Modern BMS do have those tools, but someone with a map, compass and a pair of binoculars has to input the location of most of the enemy contacts at some point. Also, sometimes the old school is better in the modern world. The lesson that sticks with me is coming across a US Army MP 2Lt who was lost. The batteries in his PLGR were dead and he had not been taught to navigate with map and compass. Nor had his driver. His Sgt was the only one in his pl who could use a map and compass and he was elsewhere with a section. I taught him to do a resection and left him to find his way to the RV. Imagine when we fight the Soviets, er Russians next time and we need to do so under EMCON 1.
  11. CAS sorties normally use low level transit corridors flying to and from the FEBA which have a slightly removed relationship with the terrain. Not unconcerned with terrain features but more concerned with location of AMA's etc.
  12. I still prefer to see FLOCARK done on talc with overhead markers. PowerPoint is not conducive to a proper terrain analysis.
  13. Funny, I don't know anywhere, anyone liked in the rain in Gagetown. Except maybe F-2 or F-6 by the fireplace with a whiskey.
  14. Interesting, we have been using LCol Mouat's Mapsymbs font and the MilIcon generator unfortunately they are based on App-6a and it is a bit clunky now. I'll see if we can get this one on the network a if I can get it past the ISO. Cheers
