  1. No you need to create the route "manually". However, you can: 1. Press the shift key and as long as the route you plot is near the road, the software will "snap to" the road, so you don't need to zoom right in to create the route. 2. You can also create an "independent route" that several units will follow instead of creating duplicate routes that follow the same road.
  2. All good (imagine if they paid me ). Re the sound, do you have other things running in the background? Also you may well hear the volume drop if you go from outside the turret (F8) to inside (F6 or F7)?
  3. Well in my experience it isn't really an issue. If you ask a Platoon to cross a bridge flat out in wedge formation then yes you'll have an issue. If you: 1. Tell them to use the road 2. Give them a suitable formation (e.g. column) say a 100m short of the bridge, and 3. Get them to cross at a slow / medium pace then all is good.
  4. Well that has been dealt with by these new "pay as you go" licenses. Want to use it for a month, pay $X Want to own it pay more than $X etc.
  5. Well two of the licenses I lend out become free in the next 24 hours. Drop me an email and I'll send you the details.
  6. Well to answer the second post - it depends on how the scenario designer has scripted it (some are single vehicle, most aren't). As for the Wiki, usually once you register you are sent an email asking you to confirm registration (check your junk mail) and once you do that you can get in. I know its on the home page of the site but on the off chance that you didn't notice, there is a loan license programme available that lets you "try before you buy" (usually for about 2 weeks) so you can answer a bunch of these questions that way. Oh and search is your friend (I'm sure I've answered a bunch of similar questions to the ones you have asked several times already from others in the last few weeks).
  7. Well that brings it back from Tuesday morning to Monday morning for me so still a "no go". Any hope it goes well.
  8. Who? http://www.steelbeasts.com/sbforums/showthread.php?t=16238 So if you are interested, send me a PM (or email) and I'll send you the invitation and set you up. Your message to me needs to contain: First name: Surname: Email Address: I’ll assume the nickname is to be the same as the one you use here. 0900 GMT on Thursday, July 18th. 1000 in London 1700 in Perth 1830 in Darwin 1830 in Adelaide 1900 EST in Brisbane 1900 EST in Melbourne 1900 EST in Sydney and 2100 NZDT in Auckland http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?iso=20130718T0900 This Thursday is "Head to Head day". This means progressing to Mission #3 of the Fulda Gap campaign with some playing Blue the others, Red.
  9. Um so why keep asking when he has it made it abundantly clear that it "aint gona happen"?
  10. Well you said you might be around (due to school holidays) so why not turn up and play Red?

    Tablets!

No thanks. I have a green message notebook that doesn't need batteries and can get wet, etc.

    Tablets!

You do know these things are fairly delicate and aren't ruggardised to bounce around in the back of a FO's vehicle? Having said that if what you are after is a "Kindle replacement" then I think most will work since they all have "book readers / Kindle software" availalbe to them. I do have a soft spot for the iPad but you then tend to need to be in the Apple universe for ease of file transfer, etc. (although drop box cdertainly helps with that).
  13. Four people made it last night (lots of pre-announced absences). One of which "Yowie" was the silent drop in from the week before. We got him up and running in Team Speak and he spent the night having a look around, as he didn't feel confident running a vehicle. Turns out he is one of the people currently borrowing a license. The scenario turned out predictably if not well, since it is meant to show what happens if you stay too long at a position and get caught by the first echelon. A "target rich environment". Next week, 18 July, is "H2H" night and we will be going back to Fulda Gap.
  14. No it has nothing to do with the dongle. What a clean install does is avoid issues with old files, etc. if you try to install say 3.0 into the same directory as 2.0 (say C:\Games\Steel beasts)
  15. Too late ... If you like that then I suggest: "Tuskers: An Armored Battalion in the Gulf War" - David S. Pierson and "Heavy Metal: A Tank Company's Battle to Baghdad" - Capt Jason Conroy, USA
  16. So you can end up with things scripted such as: Blue ROE: "Do not park AFV within 200m of culturally sensitive site". Green: 1. Draw custom region (call custom region "no go zone" or some such) with boundary of 200m around site. 2. Have civilians walk around "no go zone" 3. Have civilians scripted to "explode if ... Blue AFV in no go zone". If Blue commander does what he is told and observes ROE, all good. If Blue commander parks AFV next to culturally sensitive site (i.e. goes into "no go zone"), then: a. Civilian explodes. b. Civilian exploding maybe an event that triggers insurgent attack or some such. All because the guy ignored the ROE.
  17. Just get them on Kindle instead of paper.
  18. Well I think that is the decision point.
  19. Yes they are good for "pattern of life" stuff and I think rudimentary ROE training.
  20. Well don't choose it then in the map editor.
  21. Well if you choose to engage it frontally you have no one to blame but yourself I suspect.
  22. Its not a thread, its the "Gallery": http://www.steelbeasts.com/sbforums/sbgallery/main.php?g2_itemId=17327 I think they meant in terms of the additional variants that are coming, not extra detail in an already detailed model.
  23. Well the first, F5 type, picture gives that away. The top right corner should look different to most people's current arrangement.
