  1. Defence in Sector

    Hi

    Here is a pretty complex (red) scenario, that challenges your decision making in the field and your ability to read a map for defensive positions.

    You have control of a reinforced Danish Leopard 1-A5 DK-1 tank platoon. It has been reinforced with 2 more Leopards from B-company and 6 M-113's with 106mm mortar. Appart from that you have a couple of scout GD's and a support attachment.

    The OPFOR consists of 6 different levels ranging from 1 tank platoon to a brigade size force with support units. Furthermore the OPFOR can be enhanced with M-24 Hind airsupport, Mi-8 Airborne troops and/or a section of MRLS. So all in all a lot of different possibilitys of OPFOR.

    Blue force is conducting a Defence in Sector, and OPFOR is conducting a Meeting Engagement.

    Take your time in the planing phase so you don't get stuck with an element in the marsh or misplaced vehicle emplacements. Make sure you know how to get from one side of your sector to the other and have you your artillery priorities planed.

    See if you make the right decision the first time

    And you better make up your mind in a hurry

  3. Irvington Series - Conduct a Hasty Attack

    M-SIMNET Platoon-Level Exercise

    TASK: Conduct a hasty attack

    TRAINING OBJECTIVES:

    Given four fully operational M1 simulators, SIMNET special
    mapsheet with overlay, automated opposing forces, notional
    friendly forces, and an OPORD, the platoon will move to and
    assault an enemy position. The platoon will:

    1. move along the specified route without error;
    - formation and route
    2. report all control measures IAW SOP;
    - passage of all lines
    - taking objectives
    - getting in contact with enemy
    3. execute appropriate actions on contact;
    4. engage enemy forces with direct fires;
    5. assault designated objective(s).

    The scoring is based on the above rather then hits and how fast
    you put steel on targets.

    SCENARIO NARRATIVE:

    The tank platoon performs an attack on objective as one platoon of a
    company team. The platoon leader receives the company OPORD
    from the Co (Tm) commander and prepares for operations. The
    platoon moves along designated routes from the TAA, crosses the
    LD/LC, and continues to maneuver unopposed for approximately
    five Km through PL Jack. The platoon orients toward OBJ STEEL A,
    and secures CPs five and six. The platoon then performs actions
    on contact, performs fire and maneuver to close and assault OBJ
    STEEL A. The platoon consolidates on STEEL, reorganizes, and
    prepares to continue the mission.

    PLAYER:

    You should opt to play this either as gunner or TC in 1 PLT (1/A).
    There are no scripted routes so you will have to move the platoons
    in Company Wedge your self.
