Ok,with greatful thanks to Mr Leiste,i have got some nice new skins. However,i did notice something. This might cause some mirth but i am sure it happened.I was playing one of my fave missions, which 90% of the time i can complete with no casualties. Now having installed some new skins it seems that i may as well have painted them bright orange and stuck strobe lights on!!!!I wasnt using a winter skin in a woodland setting or a desert skin in a woodland setting,so they shouldnt really show up as well as they obviously do!Is it me or does the Sim take vehicle appreance/camo into account for targetting and spotting?

The AI in SB is like Farcry shooting wise.
They can see you if you hide behinde a bush, because to them the bush isn't there, and you may aswell be wearing a loud shirt, cos they can see you just the same.
(of course if you sneak up behind them, you can usually get away with it.)

with that being said you could paint it orange with strobes and not change a thing
Depends on what kind of bush. They cant see though some of them.

Yes. Those painted on the map with the scatter tool DO block the line of sight. Those that are made with the terrain theme editor (where they fade out with distance) cannot be used to block the computer's line of sight. Therefore it is best to use the scatter tool where this is appropriate. Ground clutter is supposed to be that - breadcrumb like small objects lying on the ground, pebble and gravel stones maybe, or tufts of grass. Boulders and trees and large bushes definitely aren't what the ground clutter was made for.
Long time ago it was mentioned on the forums that:
"If there's (dark) trees in the background of your position, the enemy will detect you less quickly (if not equipped with thermal sights).
Is this still valid in SB ?

It should, although I'm not sure how computer-controlled units assess the darkness of background elements (I guess it's a simplistic approach, like two or three LOS tests to see if there are tree objects behind or near the target).
