I have a Gravis Destroyer Xtreme now. It worked properly when I had Windows ME, but now it does the wierd thingie. If i go to external or to tc station it acts up as if it had a hat button locked on up (my j/s does not have a hat button). That means in leo it will slave gun in peri and in the adapter(with mouser and with joystick), it will force view to 12 o'clock view in tc unbuttoned and in external in both tanks (this behaviour ceases when i use the mouse in tc unbutoned and buttoned, but not in external)

I already up graded the latest drivers for my usb ports and searched for a driver for gravis with no luck. I tried to connect the joystick in both usb inputs. I already set the compatibility mode for SB to win 98. Dunno what else to do. Anybody else with this trouble fixed it somehow?
Someone any ideas???
Thanks in advance

HG

Check in the SB manual... There's a joystick reset button on the keyboard. Think it's "shift J " but check the manual. Also check that your in the Digital mode on the joystick. Have seen this problem with sticks before, the microsoft sidewinder had a simmilar problem with one of there games. Required a patch from the game company.
all for now
9erRed .......out.

Well all I can say is that XP sucks. Sorry.

It seems to be less XP in itself (although there'd be a lot to say about it), but rather the drivers for it. Apparently something changed how the sticks have to communicate with the OS to work properly, and some drivers just don't work properly anymore unless they get new drivers.
This may be the underlying reason why Microsoft ceased to support their first generation Sidewinder joysticks for XP. They just weren#t in the modd to write a new driver. Other companies seem to have implemented an actually working WDM driver in the past, and need not worry with the introduction of XP.

Don't ask me for details. I'm no programmer.

I tried XP too, and I fully agree with Sean. :casstet: I also tried to play with Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital 3D under XP both analog and USB with the same problem that HG has, and even the mouse didn't react (I think the "unmovable" TC and external view has been discussed in old forum). Meanwhile got back to 98 SE and my old analog Thrustmaster stuff works fine....
I know it doesn't help very much, but you are not alone HG :)

How old is your Wingman? I got the same joystick(at least the name is same) and it works fine in XP. Maybe yours is older model or something.

Hey Joe, I saw Ssnake giving:

www.wingmanteam.com

where you can find newest driver and other maybe useful applets such as a port configurator. It would be aweful if you can't make your digital joystick work with SB. I installed PzCom to see how mz Gravis behaved, it is funny, it worked properly. I have no other game to test on. But, that is not worth for much. Still the issue is I need to get a gameport or a new joystick. I am very interested in getting a wingman from what I 've heard, I even downloaded a profile made by Ssnake that I found in the wingmanteam site. Please. tell me if it works finally with xp Joe. Grüße!

Hehe, I alwazs forget to switch not onlz kezboard lazout but also mind to German mode.

Well, disregard last request Joe. Does not make any sense to reinstall Win XP just to watch if a driver works. I forgot that unlike me you went back to previous Betriebsystem. Happy Leoparding;)
