What will happen witht his fantastic game once Sb2 is released?? It will be abandoned to his luck?? Why not make a late expansion or addon?? Maded by the game developers?? The can add new playable vehicles, M2, T-72, T-80, why not new tanks?? T-55, M-60, maybe new terrain textures.. paved roads, new buildings... They have the source code no? so they can work on this, maybe a expansion cd that can come with the Sb2...
That's my opinion

Well, in my opinion, fro my experience with games when they release a sequel, the original is never really lost. In fact its compared to its original, and then players decide which is better and go with it. In the case of combat flight simulator, cfs2 was better than the first, so a lot of players went over to cfs2. but then when cfs3 was released , it was too poewerful for a lot of systems, and people reverted to using t as a beer coaster. So I wouldnt worry about SB being abandoned until SB2 is released and it can be tested to see what kind of demands it puts on ones system. I can see a lot of room for imporvment on SB, like stratos said, new map and terrain textures, and more playable vehicles like the M60, T-80 even the brit challenger and centurion tanks. But not to take away from SB, which is the best armor sim ive ever seen!! Itll be interesting to see what comes out of SB2. One thing ive learned, never buy into the hype before a game is released, as you can be leaving yourself open to dissapointment.

Which is why we don't hype SB2 ...yet. ;)

I should tell you though that we haven't touched the SB code for 18 months now, and won't do so in the foreseeable future. The new engine offers so many advantages that you will all agree (once that it is released) that there's no way going back to the original. At this point however we have a great engine, but not the great game we want it to be. I daresay though that SB2 will be a step over SB1 as SB1 was over, say, the original M1TP. The tremendous hardware progress makes things possible that we could only dream about five years ago.

I hope that Sb2 will transport me to another Armored world, but the decision of make Sb2 not modable can be my opinion about Sb1 mods a very interisting thing for the company
Long live to SB!! ( 1 and 2 )

Let me just say... yes I was allowed to enter the hallowed halls of Monopatchism, on a high, far away mountain top. The Tempel of the Vengefull Rodents... I their I was to set my eyes upon a SB, a SB greater than I ever saw before... It was then that my eyes started to bleed and my bodily fluids gathered and began to flow.
Prophecies of the Squirrels, Tome 2
I have seen the future and it looks bright... we just need to keep patience and support the team in any way we might, i.e. bring in our talents and offer it to them. Oh, and stop bugging about getting SB right now - the tweaking will take time, but I shall never forget what I could cast my eyes upon...
About the time SB2 is released...
I'll have just unlocked the mastery to AI movement and scenerio scoring of SB1
So take your time :D

Some things are easy to explain: Mountains. Steep slopes, high mountains.
You've seen that from the August screenshot. Weather effects that will affect mobility. Night combat. Better looks. High screen resolutions. Better sound effects. More target vehicles, including trucks. More playable vehicles, including 105mm gun systems (e.g. Leopard 1A5) and the Bradley IFV.These things are pretty much open secrets by now. You have seen some early screenshots of the graphics engine. That should give you an idea about the terrain variety that SB2 will offer.
Given that we retain the strengths of the original Steel Beasts and systematically address most shortfalls of it, how could SB2 not be but a big step ahead?

SB2 will magically transport you to a tank range every time you fire your main gun. For MG fire, Snnake will come to your house, and stand next to you while he fires off a couple hundred rounds from an M249.
When Arty hits......Esim will bomb your neighbors house.
THAT is how the sound is better in SB2!

well, if you step outside that tank for a moment. yes, outside, now.
ok. notice that the tank doesn't change gear. that's what we intend to adress in Sb2.

Can you say in general terms when the SB2 info site might be available?
Days? Weeks? Months?

Let's face it! Since SB2 can use every scenario made for SB(1), at better looks and realism, nobody that can use SB2 will stay with SB(1)!

Well, SB1 will probably still have a place for vintage computers and most except the latest notebooks.
And I want the new web site up before Christmas.
