Will there be a new version of SB before SB2? :?

No, all efforts are being driven towards the finish of SB2. Can't find Ssnakes quote about this at the moment.

Hes sleeping maybe...To not be tired, so he can work on SB2!

He's on a two-week break, I think - still checking the forum every so often, but not at his usual optempo.

There are dreams of going beyond SB2 and producing a battalion-level sim with the same level of detail and including air assets, artillery, ninjas and all the other trappings of modern warfare...but first eSim will have to make enough money on SB2 to justify the effort.

I also assume that after SB2 there might be a few weeks or months of "don't even say the word 'tank' while I'm in the room" before they're ready to consider another project. ;)

It's harder to work on its glory everyday, and neither being able to brag about it nor being able to release it yet, believe me.
Anyway: SB2 will replace SB1. 1.226 is the final version, end of story. The only chance that we MIGHT reanimate SB1 code would be if we got paid a lot of bucks by a customer who needs SB1 for his thousands of low-end notebooks with lots of the feature-improvements of SB2. If there is one good thing about it, it's that its terrain rendering is not polygon based. However, it probably would be much cheaper to replace the notebooks in most cases, so I wouldn't place bets on this to happen.

I don't think there is a serious reason to be disappointed. After all, SB2 is at least as good as SB1 in all areas except the hardware requirements, and much better in most areas. I don't see why one would want to go back to SB1 once that you have seen SB2.
