Salute!

I am a former Army Tanker who fell in love with this game, and I would like to get in on some online games with people. Be warned...I am very green behind the ears when it comes to memorizing the hotkeys, and game commands. yup, I'm a nOOb :)

Feel free to contact me if anyone want to kick me around some time.

Nice avatar. Welcome to the community. :)

If you flip through the AntiFrustration Kit, there's a list of scenarios in there intended to pick up where the tutorials left off, and give you some more practice on basic controls.

If you see me in chat, give me a shout and I can host some kind of co-op to initiate you. For that matter, most of the guys around here would probably do that if you asked. ;)

BUT! be prepared to die and loose all games in the begining... ewen thoe we know U are a newbie, the enemy still wants to kill U... But watch and learn from the oldies, most Hellhound and Lonestar and they will get U thrue... :-)

WB Aboard trackpad. Just show up in the chat room. Plenty of people there that wuold be glad to fight errr help you out in the battlefield. Dont be scared to ask anyone if they want to play. I f they cant play they will tell you, but if they can, they would be glad to play agame. Like KT said, dont get upset at beginning when you die asll the time right away. It happens. It did for me when i started playing MP. But you will get better thru time and soon you will be doing the killing instead of being killed. Just listen to the seasoned veterans like LS, NIK, myself, ARCHANGEL, and few others. Learn from them, and also learn from your mistakes.

I don't get scared of losing to better players, besides, a good Tanker only exposses his position with a round down range. ;)

I wish I had this game back in the day when every one was sweating Table XIII. It sure beats waiting your turn in those little white boxes on the other side of post.
The AI tanks move better then any rookie driver right out of Knox too. Some times I wish GD built a TC's over ride for the drivers hole.

Whitch brings up a good question;
By defualt, the cadilacs are activated when you enter the gunners staion, and you have to press joystick button 3 to dump your solution. Is there a way to asign the keys so as you have to press joystick button 3 to activate the cadilacs, and let off button 3 dump your solution?

Not in SB1, sorry. Maybe in SB2, but really: You'd need a stick with palm switches or otherwise the continuous pressing of a button just makes your hand cramp after a while. I don't think that you really want this feature, if you think it through.

From the TC position the TC's override works like that if you can assign the "P" key to one of the joystick buttons.
From the GNRs seat, pressing it is like dumping lead. Counter the way it works in real life, but it works...

I wouldn't mind trying some online action - I'm fairly sure I'd enjoy it. I've got DSL now, so my conns shouldn't be an issue. Whatever software comes and goes, I still go back to my two favourites - Steel Beasts and Sub Command. I'll have a wonder into chat at some point; and offer the pros some target practice!
