Am I correct in assuming most MP battles are set to High difficulty, realism, etc.? Does the host PC determine this?
I ask only for training; in that I need to become a much more intuitive TC on the M1A1 if I expect to get that gun tube in the right place.
On that note...
While using a computer gunner, I find the TC in the Leo much more versatile than the M1. I can use the peri to scan, have my computer gunner scan a small section opposite, and flip back and forth to determine if the contact is a valid target. Snapping the gun around to match my view is easy and efficient.
On the M1, however, I have to sling the turret manually, and (at medium difficulty) use the aid-box to get the gunner in the desired area. This is prone to over shooting with a fast moving turret, exaggerated elevation/depression, etc.
Now this may just be a matter of practice, practice, practice; I was wondering if the community had feedback on tactics and tricks (a la the AFK section) on good TC behavior. The way I figure, utilizing the computer gunner’s limited capacity for IDing targets in a narrow arc then using my view to scan elsewhere, I'm increasing my SA significantly. But to make that trade off, I need to be able to lay the gun quickly. Too many times have I spotted that T80 just in time to get the override going and slewing around...in time to see the flash and incoming tungsten!
Thanks in advance for constructive feedback.
