This guy makes a bunch of different custom controllers, think we can convince him to work on tank handles? He even has the M1 down at the bottom of the list.

Haven't called him but I have a feeling those custom controllers are a bit pricey.

The site says they can make a mock M1 "cockpit", but there aren't any links.

BD....there is no M1 controller. It's merely on his list of "possibilities."

I think the key is to convince him of the potential for a desktop set of cadillacs to this market. Wonder what group pricing for, say, 20 units would be? Or would he have to make many more to get cost down. Hell, I'd spend $50+ to have a set. :)

Greetings all,

Ref the desktop controllers being produced for around $50 ...Not.

For the base unit with programable keys, and the gunners cadillacs as well as the commanders controller off on the right side. You'd be looking at ... at least the similar prices as a set of " cougar " controlers .... around $300. Remembering the cadillacs MUST be tough and virtually indestructable as well as durable switchs and controls on both the gun and commanders controlers.

The $50 range is acutally the cheap joystick range, best quality or top of the line is still around $150. Now that's all metal and optical / digital controlled so no internal moving parts to wear out.

That being said, there is a [ contact ] with the real leopard controllers avail. ( both gunners and comanders ) and the exploded view maintience manual also avail. so just need to get some "Master" molds made and see what can be created. Following the technique from the above producer of mockups would only take the time and space to produce a trial prototype version. Although that "time" is currently not avail. maybe soon?

All for now ..... 9erRed

9er...I was hoping for the caddy alone, not a base keyboard or TC stick. I figure w/ enough volume he could produce something that wasn't outside the $100 range. Hence $50(plus), I figured a bit more, but one can dream.

I agree that something of this nature is not likely to be cheap. I just wonder if his rapid prototyping and molds could make a limited production run affordable, or whether it's something better left to the real simulators.

MM- that's actually supposed to be a LOSAT KE missile. The TOW is a little less dramatic I'm afraid.
:?
But I'm also craving that M2/3 TOW launcher! That and tearing up things with the 25mm bushmaster. Gotta admit though, I hope the infantry model improves a bit, so we can play the scout role more effectively. But I digress.
