And once you've uploaded it, scroll to the top of this page, hit Profile, scroll to the bottom and click the "From Postnuke" button.

(HH, with due respect)

A slightly cleaner version.

(the reason HH and the 29ers keep me around: occasional good use of Photoshop)

And HH..you are now on the list of "Your avatar scares me." Nice work there!

A much cleaner version, in truth. Somehow, you've acquired a graphics program even more sophisticated than MS Paint.

by the way HH, you put your old one??

I have a bunch; the red heraldic is my classic avatar, but I rotate a different one in every few months just for fun. ;)

I need to go through some Hellboy stills, and find a shot of Sammael. 8)

I have one beret patch a German friend sent me by mail some years ago. Mine has a wheeled vehicle, while the one in ur avatar has tracks? maybe mine is a fake, or maybe there are several versions. will try to take a pic later today

Yes our Tankers wear black.(together with a nice pink shoulder stripe  )

PzGrenadiere=armored infantry and green stands for Infantry

Ah, of course. That would explain the crossed rifles and APC on the badge. Duh! :casstet:

You got it
Note: some of our APC crew wear also black-baretts...but only if the
Bn CO allows it(not very likely when he's and old "grunt" :) )

btw:You Canadians still wear the crown in your symbols?

Hell_Hound

95% of our units have the queen's crown on the badge, but not all of them do.

I've heard that when the queen dies they'll redo all the badges with the king's crown, but that may not happen. (My unit wants it to happen because our old badge was cool and the new one isn't; we dream of getting a redesign when they change monarchs.)

You know, thats what I like about "royal-militaries": a certain amount of style.

You could make a link in the upload section, describing how to do it, with the specifications the pics need to be.

Thats a armored-recon badge(you should also be able to see 2 crossed lances in the backround, as symbol for the light-cavalerie).

The all cloth badges are not "official" ones but bought privatly be soldiers who consider them better looking
The standart badge is metal.

Well, I wonder why it wasn't placed on a golden backround :D (recon-color) because our arm.-recon guys are the most "color-proud" folks in the whole Bundeswehr. Some even make the complete inside of their uniform-jackets in golden-silk!!!
One reason may be that these units have a high density of nobles amongst their officers(Freiherr von....; Graf von...zu.... their name-badges must be very wide  )

Hector
05-18-2004, 12:54 PM
Yes, it does have the lances as you describe. Nice info, thanks Grenny. is it then like the Panzerspahtruppen right? is this badge for the guys using Luchs?

You're right, this gets asked on a monthly basis and should be in the AFK.

And it actually means something. To be called "Loyal", a regiment must never have lost ground to an enemy. They can pull back if ordered to do so, but they must bat 1.000 on the defense. The Loyal Eddies earned their "Loyal" tag in Kapyong pass, along with the US Presidential Unit Citation.

While the other units around them were calling for relief, reinforcements and medevacs, the LER's requests were for artillery on their own lines, and for more ammunition. :)
