eSim Games delivers Steel Beasts Professional to US Army

Sunnyvale (CA), May 20, 2003 - Software developer eSim Games announced
today that it has completed another important milestone in the development
of its simulation and strategy game "Steel Beasts 2".
The latest version of the armored combat tactics simulation "Steel
Beasts Professional" has been released, and is tailored for professional
military training.

Al Delaney, owner of eSim Games and lead programmer of all Steel Beasts
products, announced that the core of the simulation is now almost complete,
and work on the visual effects and overall presentation is next on the
agenda.

"The new version adds a lot of functionality," Delaney said.
"This explains why we haven't released much preview material yet since
all major visual effects are scheduled for the last phase of the game development.
Even though not all features of the military version are desirable for
an entertainment product, the parallel development of two product lines
helps to improve both of them."

Version 2.036 is the third release of "Steel Beasts Professional"
for a NATO military organization and marks a major milestone for the development
of "Steel Beasts 2", which is a detailed PC-based simulation
and strategy game of various contemporary armored fighting vehicles like
the US M1 Abrams or the M2 Bradley.
"Steel Beasts 2", is scheduled for release in the last quarter
of 2003.

"Steel Beasts" was awarded "Best PC Simulation of 2000"
by PC Gamer, SimHQ.com, GamePen and Wargamer. It has also received multiple
Editor's Choice awards, and is in use at the US Military Academy (West
Point) to help train future US Army armor officers and other students.

eSim Games, located in Sunnyvale, California, creates highly accurate simulation
games for the personal computer, which can be used by both consumers for
entertainment purposes, and by the military as an inexpensive training
tool.

Just about half of all the games I can think of missed their scheduled release dates. You just can't accurately predict things like that. You never know if you will find some bug that requires a major coding overhaul to fix, or a concept that just isn't working.

Here are some games that were also late:

75% of all the games I have ever played lol. Some where off by several months, others by over a year.
