I just wanted to bring to the attention of our SB community members, that I'm finding more and more SB members using the SB Team Speak as opposed to the Chat room..

For those that do not have this, it may appear that chat is basically empty, when in fact, if you have Team Speak, you will find many in there.. sometimes only..

You can go to http://teamspeak.org and download the program: make sure you pick the correct OS.. Operating System for you PC.. I downloaded the U- user mode.

Then go and get a releatively cheap single ear - boom mic.. with small insert plug for sound card in the rear of your PC.. sometimes they come with 2 plugs, one black and one red.. use the red one and plug it in the red, or orange looking, one.

My boom mic cost like 14 dollars.. and came with high tech wiring for min sound interference, etc.

I orginally bought an expensive (I met a salesman..lol) that sold me one that had a USB only type connection (for better sound quality).. but it would not work thru my PC.. so agian, I tell you to just get a cheap one, no more than 15 dollars with the small plug for the sound card in rear of PC tower.. and you will be good to go..

Once you have this, you can jump in SB Team Speak thru the forum once your logged in and you will see in the lower left column.. who is in Team Speak as well.. or if your going into chat thru the forum, just take a look a the left column and towards the bottom and you will see who, if any, is in Team Speak..

Cya there..

Please remember, guys, that in TS you are restricted to one person talking at a time, and it takes much more concentration to listen to TS than to read the chat screen. I like being able to participate in more than one discussion at once, or to surf the web/watch TV/ etc. while chatting. With TS you also end up tethered to your computer. I also like the ability to walk away from my computer for a few minutes here and there, and find everything that was said while I was away right there on the chat screen, so I can jump back into the discussion.

I like these such that I don't use TS at all, except when I am in a game (where it works great). It's a matter of preference, of course, but I believe that there are others here who feel as I do. Those of you who are now exclusively use TS are cutting yourself off from those of us who find it to be awkward and confining.

And yes, I do know that some people find typing to be awkward and confining, too. I'm sure some of you really relish not having to type anymore because you use TS. I'm not criticizing you. I'm just suggesting that people who did use text chat not be too quick to abandon it.

Yes, best bet is to have both TS working and Chat room..

Best of both worlds IMO
