Some of the latest definitions of Norton/Symantec & Macfee will quaratine the TeamSpeak file keypress.dll & detected it as a PWS.Hooker.trojan. It looks like it's a false detection of the antivirus software but the Teamspeak Developers have complied a new version regardless.

Virus Issue, infected keypress.dll

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

to prevent any further downloads of an MAYBE infected/not infected
teamspeak client install package i compiled today a new client install
package and replaced it with the old.

so anyone who encountered the problem with the infected file can just
download the new client package from our main page or download
section.

Question: just came on to TS, and saw the keypress.dll error box.. then TS downloaded and it seems to be ok..

Do I need to re install teamspeak in your opinion?

Thanks

TeamSpeak needs the keypress.dll file so don't delete or quaratine it. Otherwise you will get the error message. You need to get the new complied version of TeamSpeak from their site. Then unistall the old version & install the new version.

The new complied version doesn't get red flagged on the keypress.dll file by the antivirus software.

Did any of the antivirus software makers say anything ?? Or jsut Teamspeak. ??? Things can get as virus from the internet . Just like the zip file that was uploaded here the other day..

If in doubt go with the antivirus software.. and get rid of it and then get the new one..

it seems that this file is falsely accused of being a virus, because it matches some of the characteristics of a known virus.
i checked it, and the TS file doesn't function as the virus the antivirus softwares notify about.
it's really just a misunderstanding.
