FASCAM for TGIF, ALL CO's READ!

Fascam rule is as follows:
1.) No FASCAM directly on a bridge.
2.) Any Fascam laid near a bridge MUST have AT LEAST one 25 meter wide passage lane ( about 3 dirt roads wide.)
This Passage lane must be wide enough for, and situated to allow, a platoon of M1's or Leo's, in Column formation, to be driven through the passage lane at slow speed without AI stumbling on mines . The route can have any number of turns.
3.) So you can "T " a bridge, but you cannot close it or cap it entirely.

Why not? If there's only one bridge, and the water is un-crossable, and no way to go around I can understand. But if there's 2 bridges, why not block one?

Hey LS, I would like to make a TGIF sce, how would I give it to you guys when it is done? Also what would the SOP be to keep to different TGIF sces from being posted for the same game? Ect, ect :?

Thank God my reign as a Co, and Xo ended before Elf's reign as scenario designer for IVU matchs. The Scene itself should be set up in a way to promote what the designer wants. The Co should have free reign to do whatever can be done with the scene. I know, "design a tgif scene, and I can make the rules." I just do not beleive in letting things in a gray area decide battles.

Append to the briefing: "A local elementary school has scheduled a picnic in this area, and several school buses full of kids will be driving across an undisclosed bridge shortly after the battle. The artillery officer is aware of this fact, and will refuse to fire a FASCAM mission in such a way that it endangers the kids."

Dont blow a gasket guys, Not many Corps commanders are gonna let you FASCAM a bridge if they intend to use it for an Assault. This is as old as WW II guys, not the Fascam part, but the destruction of a needed bridge. In this sce, dont fascam a bridge. There will be ones where you can Fascam any freakin bridge you want.

Sherman, if you are pushin the limits that close, then maybe you should pay more attention to the placement? I dont know what else to say.... but there is only one rule,....relax.

There is only one rule that I can see. Don't put FASCAM on or near a bridge. Is it that difficult?

Anyone who has played SB more than a month can manage to get his arty all set before it is too late to change it.

Elf. I think you do a great job making these scenarios. They are very entertaining, and it is fun to have something new to play. I know how much work it takes to make a good scenario, and I appreciate it.

I can't believe all these people dumping on you because you have one little rule about FASCAM, that if not followed, will screw up the gameplay on the scenario. Come on guys, it's just a game. Let's calm down.

And no Corps commanders gonna say "oops, we lose we fascamed the bridge, sorry guys, the russians win"
Im all for limiting fascam use, but if there more than one bridge, then fascaming a bridge should be allowed so long as there is a way to cross river via another bridge. Now if it only bridge, then i can understand the no fascam rule, but other than that, it is utterly ridiculous.

Gentlemen, Rules are in the brief of sce.. no fascam of bridges.. but.. someone said "ok, will T the bridge.." OK.. got that solved.. min of 25m either sides of bridges to allow column of units to pass straight shot from one side, without A1 going crunchie on ya and self destructing units..

Now, Commanding is tuff, the pressure is there.. and if ya can't get it right in the 2:30 mins less the set rule of 1:50 min and blow the lay of the fascam, you might and should.. lose your command.. TOO MUCH PRESSURE.. GET SOMEONE THAT CAN LAY IT RIGHT AND WITH THE PRESSURE OF LITTLE TIME... :lol:


OK.. TGIF 40 is on for the night, choose your artty man right..



And as far as I am concerned.. if ya blow the lay, and the other side gets cut off at a bridge and loses the battle and wants your ass and the game.. that's the other sides call.. NOT MINE.
