Pretty good pic of Swedish TC PC -

New digital commanding system, whitch is capable of transmitting both analog and digital messages over the radio 180 system and DART system. The display at the commander can present any information you might want. A positioning system with high accuracy relying on inertianavigation is mounted to give the TCCS necessary information. A presentation unit for giving waypoints and other infromation is mounted to the right of the driver

nice site Burner, thanks!

What impresses me more is the part where they say it provides 4 times the protection of the A4 in the frontal area, 2 times overall and that not known ammo today can get thru :o . It is amazing. Dang, we should have heard of it before, so we all could nag Ssnake and Al Del, requesting for that enhanced Leo ;) Now I am pissed, why didn't the Swedes invented it before the first SB2 preview :D

We can tell you, but then we have to kill you ;)

this is no news, atleast not for us swedes. I think the have a similar TC command system in the Leclerc and in the M1A2.

Well the armorprotection.... would have been nice to have that one practically inpeneterable in the front:D

I seriously doubt it has 4 times the frontal protection of the A4.
Vs. KE this would mean pratically 250-280cm RHA equivalent.
Even vs. HEAT this figure seems to high.
60cm RHA vs. KE on the turret flanks? Dont think either.

IT IS better protected, no doubt. But those figures are most probably exeggarations.
No know KE can penetrate, yes I believe that frontally. Well same goes prolly for Leo2A5/6. [edit] turret.
Otherwise, its quite amazing what the Swedes made out of the basic design!

Which is easier if you can build the vehicle from scratch than refit existing Leo 2A4s. The new 2A6 Ex is one mean machine, too. Especially the sliting hatch for the TC and loader is impressive. Never seen a hatch that thick...

Nice pics on that one, only the text is doubtable. Like Keiler said, the armour steel equivalent cannot possibly be so high. Latest developments were tested this year and they weren't able to reach 1000mm, so 4 times as much as the a4 is impossible!! The turrets front armour of the MBT122 is exactly the same as the Leo2A5, only on the German/Dutch configuration (Mannheimer configuration) haven't got the additional armour on the turrets roof.
Well, also don't think the front isn't penetratable. The results in penetration of the new L-55 combined with the latest LKe2 sabots were greater then expected. During the factory's test the LKe2 even penbetrated the protection bunker meant to stop the tested ammo (!). Wouldn't want to be in the MBT122 if that thing hits.....
What is 100% true on the site is the tankers breakfast, i've got to admit that.....

See you in my EMES!!!!

What makes the strv 122 great is the really superb command and control possibilities. Most of us agree that the Leo in SB is the more user friendly tank of the two. The strv 122 still has all those features, plus alot of additional features. It also removes the main disadvantage the Leo has over the M1 wich is survavability. The protection is not identical to the A5: it is rated at 700-1100 mm vs KE, while the A5 is rated at 850-930 fron turret and only 620 on the front hull. For comparison the M1A1 HA wich is in the game has about 680 on the front turret and somewhere around 600 front hull. I'm not saying that it's inpenetrable but it defenatly is one of the best protected combat vehicles in the world, and that kind of protection, combined with a superb control system and it's improved transmission should give it a definite edge against any other tank IMO. The sad thing is that we only have 120 of them :(..
