Hi,
I know all must bug you about this, but I will be buying SB2 when it comes out, but only visit the forum now and then so am not up to speed on the latest news. Nor have I been able to find the information. So….
When are they hoping to have SB2 out?
In future I will visit more often to keep up to speed. :)
All the best,
Kip.
PS. I do like the new forum, seems to do all a forum should very well. :D

We have not announced a fixed release date yet, and will only do so if we can say with a minimum degree of certainty that we will be able to finish it by that date.
Reworking the code to meet all DirectX 8 procedures turned out more time consuming than anticipated, and so did the integration of the new engine. However, both parts are finished and solved, and as far as I can see the rest of the project makes progress at the anticipated speed. Therefore I am optimistic that things will work out well from now on, so that the end of Q1/03 doesn't seem to be too far-fetched. But that's a guess, not an announcement.

Please tell me it will work fine with Windows XP???
Question for anyone, what Joysticks do people use / prefer? I liked the MS Sidewinder I have, but it has glitches when used in SB running on XP...MS drivers or something...tried all kinds of fixes, but I'm going to be stuck forking over cash it looks like.. whats a preferred stick? I liked the Sidewinder because it had pretty good resistance.....doesnt make you scan/ track too fast... i'd like another one with good resistance to movement

I use the CH Products Flight Sim Yoke USB. A bit unconventional, but closer to the real Cadillacs. Highy recommended for anyone who is interested, its much more accurate than a regular joystick, plus 2-handed tracking is steadier.

Please tell me it will work fine with Windows XP???We have no intention to leave XP users stranded. Since we do own XP machines, we can test it, and so far we observed absoutely no XP specific problems.

Will there be a "DEMO" to wet our appetize anytime soon (before the end of 2002) :) ?

Not this year.
The demo is supposed to be representative of the final product, and will be released somewhat around the release date of the game itself. This is last but not least essential because otherwise the inevitable tech support for the demo, the FAQ, the discussion about it etc. will kill so much productivity that it would delay the release of the final game - probably not in anybody's interest.
We are considering a "pre-demo" though that will probably run a specified scenario without much user interaction as a test bed for performance and compatibility. This scenario will probably show some of the things that you can expect from the final product, so we won't keep you in the dark forever... ;)
