Greetings SkeeM and welcome to the forums,

Ref the maps that are posted, you'll see they are listed in either "Height" or "Terrain" folders. (download section) Download what your looking for and navigate to the install folders of Steel Beasts, from there look for the Maps folder, within that folder are the same types and names folder. Place the downloaded items there. You may need to delete the "header" and "description" of each item. ie: (hgt)crownhill alley1268[bumpy] (remove the bracketed items)
Ref the TC override .. Normally it's linked to the "Hat" switch on your joystick, while in the TC's position (F7) hat up is "bring gun to peri view" or "hat down is "bring peri to gun" . Joystick button #3 is cancell override, you'll see the top of the peri light up when the override is engaged.

Individual missions are called "sce" files and they are placed in your scenario folder, if it's a single mission place it in the action folder or creat a new folder for just playing as you want, multiplayer sce's are placed in the "multiplayer" folder (tough one Huh) You'll find that after creating a plan (graphics / routes whatever else) and saving it, it appears in the scenario folder under the sce's mission name as the type "pln" which you can then reload anytime you play that same mission. But if it's multiplayer mission be carefull as the host or the Co may have a plan and will install it and send it to all players, this will overright your saved plan, so if you want to keep them as a sound, workable plan create a new folder and move them there. Before you play the selected mission "copy" the pln file and return it to the original location, helps if you create a "shortcut" of the steel beasts folder near your game start icon.

Hope that helps some, and download the keyboard overlay for the quick look see during your missions. Till your very familiar with where everything is, because in the heat of the moment it's not good to be searching for the "Right" key.

Later ..... 9erRed

In an M1 in TC position, you use button 3 to override the gunner. This allows you to slew the turret and bring the gunner on target. It takes a little practice, but once you learn to judge the match of the green "you are looking here" dot and the turret graphic on the lower right, it is nearly as flexible as the Leo "peri slave" mode.

The pros are the ability to stay unbuttoned and slew the turret: using a hat you can scan 360 much faster than a peri and have a wider field of view. The other cool ability is that of overriding the gunner and shooting from the TC spot, which is much harder in a Leo. (KW mode, and no lead) It's also possible to designate in emergency mode, which a Leo cannot do.

The con is the less accurate target designation (which the AI compensates for quite well) and the higher learning curve of how to point the turret correctly. In any realism level less than max you have a crosshair (low) or box (medium) to help guide you on target. This helps significantly in learning how to get the gun on target where the AI can take over accurately. Or, you can then jump into the gunner seat and do it yourself. Or better, just hit Shift-button 3 and make the override sticky and take the shot yourself. (One of the reasons I like TCing in the M1 over the Leo, despite the "HK" ability of the later.)
