If you are adding a picture to your post, please resize the pic to a smaller image so the load time & look of the forums is at it's best.

Use this image tag to size your pic [img=200x150] or close to it

The whole code line will look something like this -

(img=200x150)http://victoria.indymedia.org/uploads/ausa-day-1_450.jpg(/img)

Note change ( to [

Will make pic look like this -

http://victoria.indymedia.org/uploads/ausa-day-1_450.jpg

If you would like viewers to view the full size pic, include a link to the the actual page the pic is on.

Tanks for your help...........

...however, note that specifying a size in the (img) tag won't help the load time, though it is worth doing to avoid images bigger than the average screen.

Regardless of the screen-size of the image you post, have a look at the file size. Bitmap images, like screenshots, can easily run into the 20 MB range...convert them to .gif or .jpg format and you can easily take them down a couple orders of magnitude without hurting the quality.

That's correct as the actual image size (height & width) is resized not the file size (bytes). There is a small time saving when all the pics on the page are resized to the same size. Mostly in our case, it's to maintain a look & feel that fits the majority of screen resolutions.

Yes, it would be great if everyone had the skill to copy & resize the pics but it would increase everyone's time when it comes to posting. Also, we might not get the real links to the content as sometimes it's great to see a pic but where it came from there is some good content once you trace the URL backwards to it's source.
