Greetings all,

I'm posting this as a preamble to the release of the well antisapated offering of SBPro Pe. I have a few questions with ref. to the generic missions that will be included in the Pro Pe version.

1. First, will there only be the original 4 missions?
2. With the avail. of numerious additional foliage and structures, will sce's from SB1 be upgradable to ProPe?
2a. I'm assuming sce designers will have to tweak the unit types, but will it require a complete redo of the map terrain?

Note here: Can a list be released with the current additional terrain types soon to be avail? (ie: 8 tree types, 6 bush types.... and by there names)
This may help designers select the "correct" foliage for there given location, as opposed to showing a specific european tree type in the middle of the US NTC?

Now I understand this version is designed for "Professional" use and including generic missions would only be required as an example of some unit types and map symbols, as the users would be very familiar with this system. Will the readme text/pdf included with the release include enough info to allow the non-military user to understand what and where specific map symbols are used? ( For there is now a great amount of tactical map symbols avail., everything the aspiring commander could want!)

Will there be an add-on / 1st patch released with the Pro Pe version for non military users that has additional users sce's, say 10 to 12 missions designed to get the creative juice's jump started?
Is there any more information on user created (DTEM import) maps of country specific locations? Can we look forward to new and exciting locations to do our dasterdly deeds in?

Well all for now ..... 9erRed

From my understanding all scenarios created with SB1 are importable to SBPro, PE and SB2 (but not reversable).

Playability will, of course, be diffrent. No longer can you roll your panzers across Forests with nothing stopping you, nor can minefields block you forever.(Can dismounted inf clear minefields in SBPro,Pe,SB2?)

As for maps, I know there is no easy way to import map not already created in SB,PE, SB2 without doing the DTED process. I will have to fork over dollars to 12A to get Meaford, Pet and Kingston (I'm dreaming of overrunning RMC already) on an SB map.

I don't know to which "original four scenarios" you're referring, but the answer's "No" anyway. There will be more, but not a plethora of new missions.2. With the avail. of numerious additional foliage and structures, will sce's from SB1 be upgradable to ProPe?
Well, you can import them. You can import old maps and update them. You can load old scenarios, and do a map refresh, then adapt them. To this extent, there is an upgrade path. But since SB1 is based on certain simplifications who are no longer valid in SB Pro PE, there can be no guarantee that any SB1 scenario will work straight out of the box without some fine tuning. We did what we could to preserve compatibility, though.2a. I'm assuming sce designers will have to tweak the unit types, but will it require a complete redo of the map terrain?
Like I mentioned, once that the map has been updated, all missions can be updated through a map refresh.Note here: Can a list be released with the current additional terrain types soon to be avail? (ie: 8 tree types, 6 bush types.... and by there names)

The texture sets vary. This would depend on a certain "map theme" (which you could understand as some sort of climate zone equivalent, if you like), so depending on whether you categorize a map as "woodland", "desert", or something else, the palette of available terrain types would change. Now I understand this version is designed for "Professional" use and including generic missions would only be required as an example of some unit types and map symbols, as the users would be very familiar with this system. No, but the Google will produce links to relevant PDFs if you search for expressions like US field manual 101-5-1, MCRP 5-2A, or NATO STANAG 2019 (APP-6)Will there be an add-on / 1st patch released with the Pro Pe version for non military users that has additional users sce's, say 10 to 12 missions designed to get the creative juice's jump started?
Like I hinted before, there will be a number of missions in the initial release. I expect that some people will then create and publish new missions here for download. Is there any more information on user created (DTEM import) maps of country specific locations? Can we look forward to new and exciting locations to do our dasterdly deeds in?SB Pro PE does not have the map import tools that would be required for this. But eSim is working on more maps.
