If night combat is the only thing of interest, I have bad news for you. It's not done yet, and it won't make it into the initial release of SB Pro PE. Once that there is such a thing as night combat, we'll certainly publish related screenshots. We have every intention to add it, but not just by making it hard to see anything on the screen. Here our ambition conflicts with the desire for quick solutions.
However, I think that SB Pro PE offers such a wealth of new elements that it will keep you occupied until we're ready to add night combat.

...
I know there is a night mod for SB1, and as I recall viewing a pic of it, I wonder if, like when in the Gunner's TIS mode, you can see trails of certain weapons being fired, I wondered if in the night mod, either the Sabot's or HE rounds leave a trail in that mod, like if open hatch TC, and shot goes by..?

Not in SB1 LS .
I played many times with the night mode (as well with the snow mode~ which is lovely btw) .
Sure , to fight at night will ask us for different tactics . Intels will come from thermal imaging devices and muzzle flashes . That makes me wonder if the troopers will have any kind of night vision device to cope in the dark ...
(sound of screaching and tornt metal)
TC : " What th 'f..! wa was that Driver ??? :x
Driver : " Not sure ...I think we just rammed a T-80 Sir ... :?
TC : "
Cheers . :3starSK:

Like I wrote, simply making it dark is stupid. We cannot deprive the player of the one bloody thing that delivers 90% of all information - the monitor. Make it too dark to see anything, and nobody will have fun. I'm not advocating "American Night" either, but the idea, in principle, is sound. Darkness doesn't make sense for the entirety of a crucial scene, unless all vital information is being delivered by sound.
Just think of The Bride in Kill Bill - even when buried alive, she has a stupid flashlight with her - otherwise we wouldn't have any idea at all what she was doing to get out of that coffin.

Or you can just make it dark and be done with it.

There are only a few nights a month when it is almost totally dark ... the rest of the month is subject to moonlight and cloud cover.
How many of us have been out in the field on a full moon and cloudless night ? You can see for miles !
The night mod will not only have to reflect the time of day .... evening, midnight, predawn, etc.. but also what weather they are going to model - rainy nights are darker than moonlit nights, right ?
just simply making the screen dark is too simplistic.

Anyone can make it as dark as they wish now. Simply adjust the contrast and brightness of your monitor and there you go. Disable the TIS and you have it. Cheap night mod.
