Maps of some well-known American and Canadian training areas are being worked on.

This link (http://www.lostplaces.de/ayers/index.html) was under discussion a couple days ago, for example.

hehe, this is about 3 km away from where I live. If I leave my town I can see the Kaserne in the distance :) Use to be there during 90/91 more than in my appartment since my best friend was based there. We had a lot of fun :) Was funny to do PT in the morning with the guys.....you have to know that I am german and actice Bundeswehr member to this date (Sgt)
and it was and probably still is a bit unusual for a non Army guy to participate at the PT

I was in the Bundeswehr from 01.89-12.96 First as TC, Leopard 1A5, for about 3 years and as Drill Instructor for about 5 years serving in a Basictraining Company. Rank Sg. or in german Stabsunteroffizier. I dont know, is the Stuffz Sg. or SSg??

There are a few of us here in the community who were stationed near Kirchgoins. I was in Friedberg '85-'88. On occasion we'd use the rifle range at Butzbach.

so you have been there even before I moved to this area:)

During the first Gulfwar I was doing guarding in friedberg housing and the towns around with some guys from a US Co. A funny time, but it s....., too. Our german officers orderd us to go out there just with our Helmet and our Parka, no protection, no gun, no nothing..... sure, nothing happend but.... the CO from that Co was cool :) he saw that and gave us germans there some US Jackets, US Helmets and gear inkl. M16. That was def. forbitten but :) noone cought us..

So the german officers past us several times. looking into the HMMV, seeing just "US" Personel and driving away "
