Hey guys, got another stupid noob question for ya. I need to get some MP experience, I'd like to join a unit, but nobody is ever in the chat room. How do I get involved in MP games?

keep checking the teamspeak channel, chances are better on teamspeak, people play nearly everyday in mp or coop scenarios, do you have speakera and a microphone? teamspeak software is free and easy to install, just double click on the sblobby area on the left side of the sb website, good luck.

Yes, S8, download TS, then come to TS, you'll see a link in left lower bottom/column of SB forum..

Most go there.. as not many use chat anymore.. but some European's still do in mornings, our time FYI..

A boom mic, with plug for sound card in Tower is best over USB one IMHO.. 15 -25 dollars, I got 15 dollar ones.. works great, single ear peice with boom mic.. Plug the red/pink into red slot in sound card.

MP is active evenings, wknds, and small battles in mornings.. most days.

Thanks guys. I'm going to try to pick up a mic probably tomorrow. Anyone here want to teach a noob some tricks?

Best way to learn the tricks is to play and have the tricks played on you. Pay close attention to the AAR and what the enemy did against you, and how you reacted. Discuss it with your teammates and learn the finner points of sb through lessons learned in Virtual battle. A Good Co will tell you "You should have done this here, and this here, and this is what you did wrong" Just ask your Co and teammates what you did wrong, and I am sure they will take the time to analyze your performance and go over it with you. As you get better you will get more battle field responsibility.

What Brun said. Beyond that, find the biggest baddass you can in a game and keep going straight at him till you live. Should take awhile.

I got a Plantronics 90 headset W/boom mike for 25 dollars, Circuit city.
I reccommend it highly, was the best buy for the money.

The main trick is to be able to change to a situation and think of innovative ways to kill the enemy.

Hi SBrocker

I hate to answer this kind of posts, specially after the guys who already posted are the most indicated to do so. Still, I would like to ask you if you are familiar with basic tank tactics. If so, you go straight to the mp world. If not, then a basic reading on tank tactics or history of tank warfare would not harm. If you already know basic stuff like turret down and hull down position, platoon formations, basic unit composition, the three most important aspects of a tank (armour, firepower and mobility), and then if someone takes an abusive gesture and decides he wants to impress you, at least you will understand why and how he did it, and perhaps, he gets an unpleasant surprise ;)

Saludos

Thanks guys. I actually went and picked up a pretty cool Logitech boom mic at a 24 hr WalMart last night and played a scenario on MP. I had simple enough orders, stay here and snipe. 7 kills from my platoon, no losses though 2 of my tanks took damage to the LRF and stabalization. I was pleased for a first performance though. And yeah, AAR's help a LOT...

S8, that is an excellant report.. and in case you don't know, like in AAR, where if one turns on the LOS/color format for viewing the map and seeing the diff terrian levels/heights, one can achieve this within the game, while on the black and white map, by holding down the "space-bar" for LOS color of the terrian (but you cannot LOS anything while game is in progress) like in pre-battle mapping fase..

(continued) Good hunting..
