While in the eye view, looking out in one specific direction, the turret continues to rotate. Sometimes I see the gun tube, sometimes I see the carriage rack, sometime nothing but the open field that I am observing.

Can I lock the turret from rotating while in the eye view?

Tell the gunner to scan front helps for a minute, Shift up arrow.

or, go to TC view from there, and cmd the gunner to use emergency mode. The gun will saty where it is. I think....

Ok, eye view, is virtual view?

If your using a joystick, when the game first starts up, hit the "shift-key and the J key" at the same time, this may well stop this.. it sync's the joystick to the game..

Also, if in Virtual mode, or TC open hatch mode, use hat button for fast views, forward, backwards, or each side, with flick of hat up down and to sides.

And if this has nothing to do with a joystick, then what you're seeing is the gunner scanning, 20degree acrh, and you can in TC open or closed postion, in the M1, hold down the palm button and direct the gun to where ever you want it to be looking, but when you release the palm button, the gun (gunner) will start scanning again.. FYI

Basically this is good, in that, with you as TC looking one way with or without bino's, your AI gunner is scanning in another direction, thus giving you more area coverage.. and if you see something, as TC, then hold down the palm button and then swing the gun onto the target you see, release the palm button, and gunner will aquire target (hopefully.. lol)

Good hunting..

Thanks all. "Shift-Up Arrow" serves my needs.

I got a question about a view problem that happens with the TC eye view. For example, I am unbottoned looking the 10 o'clock direction. I then goto to another position/view and return to the TC eye view... it is no longer looking at 10 direction but rather in an entirely new direction (usually the wrong way). I tried to see if there was a pattern for causing this but I havent noticed any. Is this just how the game is... or is there a reason for why it does that?

If you leave the TC position and go to another position like gunner or outside then the AI TC takes over and starts scanning..

So its a matter of when you go back to the TC station that determines the direction where you end up looking. What is the search pattern the TCs use? Is there anyway you can influence that? Like choosing a formation pattern?

I believe the AI TC scans front 40% of the time , 25% left , 25% right and 10% behind .

He is king onboard , he does what he wants ...

Thought this might help if someone needs an idea of the gunner's scanning sectors in the different formations. These were taken out of FM 3-21.71(FM 7-7J) Mechanized Infantry Platoon and Squad (Bradley).

Staggered Column. Although the game currently only uses Inline Column.

Echelon Right. Echelon Left is just the opposite.

Too bad we cant do something to change that... my TCs sure like looking at 3 o'clock because that is where I usually catch them looking in the direction of. Thanks for the info.

Another thing I found annoying is slew rates differences between the TC and gunner. I understand why they are different but the TC slew rate is hypersensitive for me. I have a joystick util that I can use to adjust that but there is no happy middle ground that I can find... I guess I have to develop a lighter touch. :(
