Hi all:
I am running XP with SP2 and up until now have had no problems with SB on this system. But suddenly I found that SB would not run.. I fixed that with a re-install. But now, I am having a video issue I cannot seem to figure out.
After loading the screen suddenly wigs out almost like a palette change has happened. All the colors go funky and wierd. I have a gforce 4 card with the latest drivers and DX 9.0c installed.
Is there a config file that can be manually tweaked for SB for video settings? I am at a loss right now on what else to do to fix this.

By creating a Restore point on a daily basis , you can go back to when it used to work .
I would Uninstall SB again , then reinstall my video drivers , then reinstall DX on top of itself , then reinstall SB and check if it works . If it doesn 't , I would start to look at installing the video drivers who came with the card and from there check again if it work and repeat the process to the latest video drivers I could find . The original drivers are often the more stable for troubleshooting purposes .
Cheers . :3starSK:

 Not sure, but try hitting the Alt key and Tab key together quickly, and see if this does not fix this problem.. Once to get it down to task bar, then once again to bring it back to full screen..
Otherwise, clk on the + next to Game Info, in left upper column in Forums, and clk on the + and menu opens.. one being FAQ, Frequently Asked Questions, and do a search for this problem with WXP..

What video card are you running, and what drivers? Some drivers will not allow video to run at 640x480 any more.

SP2 is the problem most likely. I DLed the POS and I couldn’t get a MP game going, also the start up screen would be strange. Such as I wouldn’t get the trailer. So get rid of the service pack 2 and all should be ok. But then again it may not be the problem. I am just telling you what I did and what happened in hopes that it will help you.

lots of pink and yellows?, happens when two SB's are running at the same time on all the machines I have seen, I have found that WXP is like OSX not worth the plastic the discs are burned on. Bill Gates and Steve Jobs are becomming the same, the ends is near, the end is near!

Nonsense.
Reinstalling SB won't help, and it's not the fault of the Service Pack 2 either.
Go to c:\Program Files\...\Steel Beasts\release\tankSim.exe, right-click it, and select Properties. Go to the Compatibility tab. Checkmark the "256 color mode" field. OK&Exit. Should work now.
