New guy here, lots of questions. I'll start small. Am I out of my mind, or did I see a WWII mod for steel beasts?

News to me, but I've been incommunicado for the last few months, so I couldn't be sure. You can dl a few WWII maps here if you want to make missions:

But as for skins/mods, I dunno: your info is as good as mine... :casstet:

No, there can't be a WW2 "mod" because the model database is proprietary (and we wouldn't appreciate it be hacked). In addition, all low level computer control logic focuses on modern doctrine since modern tanks can do things that not even the Panther V Ausf. G could, therefore they would behave wrong.
Eventually eSim will move into the WW2 era with a sequel, although I must confess that personally I'm not too keen on it. But that doesn't mean that I wouldn't respect the market demands, and I know that there's more demand for a WW2 tank sim than for contemporary armored warfare. Hopefully we can interest people in what's happening today as well. ;)

I have said it before, i can barely shoot straight with a modern FCS. I dunno what would i do with out TIS, stab, or the powerful drives on modern tanks. Panthers are so nice to see and a legend for sure. So, i wish ww2 fans get their thing some day. Today, esim is the king of tanksims. No current ww2 tanksim is as good as SB in simulating tanks.
You can still play a bit with sb, take the stab and tis out of the leo and use it against T80s. Then use mud instead of ordinary soil to simulate slower speed of ww2 tanks. That is the closest u gona get to ww2 tanks with an accurate tanksim.

If you mean a Black & White Pallette Mod,
Their is pics in My Scree Shot alubum.
If you are looking for something in color....
There where some WW2 "Tiger" skins made.....
By Hackworth I think,
Was made for the Leo of course.
Haven't been posted as of yet.

Can't wait - but even better would be late 60's to mid 70's.

Hector,
Play one of the many scenarios that have TIS turned off. Engagement ranges come down to <2000m in general. Kinda cool actually.
