Just uploaded SB Model Viewer. With SB Model Viewer you can view all the models in Steel Beasts 1. You can also specify the .bmp file to use as the texture to apply.
**** PLEASE READ THE README.TXT FILE**** before using.

Excellent. Now I can look at my Photoshop work without having to use SB skinner or SB, saves a lot of time. Thanks!
OMG!
I finally get to see what the Truck looks like in 3D!
Heehee yuck.......
And who knew their was a M1 mine clearer model???
What a great little program, only had minor stability issuses.
Now how about getting together with Nimo and merging it with the skinner???
The only bad thing about it is I spent too much time playing with it and didn't get the M1 skin Pics done.....
A Big Thank You to Cpl Punishment.

Believe it or not, wanting to see the truck model was the catalyst for my writing the program.

I believe I have fixed most of the major problems. The most recent version is available at this url: http:\\krlll.homeunix.net:8080/files/SBModelViewer.zip
I will also upload it here.

I spent a little too much time with it also. :)

Well, thank you. I was curious about the truck, leo_TC3N, m1a1_h3 and m1mine. Nothing was available so I rolled my own.
Is there a known problem with WinXP? I select the .mrf file and then choose a model to view. However, when I click "Replace" the app crashes.
I have it installed in a separate directory by itself. Does it have to be in the SB Models directory?

XP should not be a problem as that is the OS I use. Which model was it? The first version of the program had a problem with the M1A1_h3 and Leo_TC3N models. The most recent version *should* (my fingers are crossed) work right. Download the latest version from this site to see if that helps.

No. It can be in any directory. If there are no texture files in the directory that the .mrf file is in the model will appear white.
I just downloaded again from the link in the forum post. I unzipped it to a separate directory where I also copied the contents of the SB Models directory. Started the model viewer, opened the .mrf file in the separate (model viewer) directory, selected a model to view (this time the BMP-1) and crashed. I clicked "debug" and got the message below:
The instruction at "0x00404690" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be read.
Looks like a null pointer problem or something similar. Don't understand why I'm hitting this, though, if you're developing on WinXP. I'm running WinXP Pro with the latest updates.

Hmmm... I'll probably look into it this weekend if I have time. Now you know why I don't do this for a living.
