Some people like to stir s**t around here , fortunatly it is only very very few . Those people write stuff in the forums who goes well beyond what we should write to each other .
And it goes to PMs , eMails , etc ...

But when a bloke who HAS GUTS ~BW~ put them against the wall by showing them how stupid it can go ~see the stupid polls~ they simply panic , hide behind the Moderators or invoque whatever excuse they can think of .

Do you know what I do when I dislike someone ?
I avoid him , as simple as that .

To end this stupid discussion , check the results of both polls and draw yourself the conclusion .
And in case you are stupid , I tell you what the result is :

Stirring s*** is made worse, when you take extra s***, add 2 tablespoons full of and finish with spices (i.e. metaphorically, a cooking recipie).

Hey men !

You're talking about the SB Community, you are flaming each other, but do you even realize the luck you have to have such a community around SB ??

I am a part of another community, the OFP one, and I am a member of a MOD for OFP, which implies that I've got some moderator work to do on a forum for the OFP french community.

You can't even imagine your luck down here ! No 14 years old guys trolling around there, no (or few) stupid questions like "which one is best, Abrams or Leclerc ?", no messages begining by "LOL", finishing by "LOL" and having 10 smilies as text body.

The SB community is the best I know, with interresting people who know what they're talking about (for most of the members), and who wait smoothly for a release without release date. This maturity is your force, don't let it go !

I think that you are very right, BipBip. It's time to concentrate on what we have, and not let ourselves dragged down into the crap that may be going on between individual members with whome we all may get along well - except that they may not even be able to ignore each other.

What I truly despise is the fact that not only they cannot learn to ignore each other, but that because of this they are dragging down others by urging them to take sides. Should this nonsense go on, I know how to cast my vote in the moderators' pool. It's going to hurt all of these troublemakers. It will be a small price to pay in comparison with the loss of overall quality and maturity in this community.

This ridiculous tit for tat is spoiling the fun for many, and stealing the time of everybody who gets involved with it. It's absolutely worthless, and said individuals are generating an equal amount of anger on my end. Go on, and face the cosequences - ober better yet, learn to ignore whatever the other is posting here on the boards, and best of all: Delete the incoming PMs of this board here before even reading them. It's really, really simple.
If you can't muster this minimum of mature behavior, I have serious doubts that you have a place in here.

I am a long winded fellow, so bear with me.When I joined this community, I didn't know what a forum was, knew nothing about computers, and most of what I know I learned from playing SB.
The first friend I made when I joined this community was LS.This is true for many of us.Most people learned how to play this game , and some became quite good at it, before they ever venture into MP play. I did not.I played 1 day, and went MP the next.Initially, LS helped me learn a thing or 2 about the game.

Certain members resented playing with someone who could do nothing but get tanks killed. I remember the first weeks, everyone on my team would pop in and out of my tanks, post " LOL" in the message screen, and leave after a moment or two, as I struggled to orient myself and acheive some minimal level of SA.I would go into AAR, where I was always the subject of some long discussion as to my inadequate performance, many led by LS.I didn't Know how to play the game, but I knew how I wanted to fight, and even before I had a grasp of what I could do with a tank in game, and how to control it, I knew eventually I would be a decent player, being a lifelong student of war, warfare, and what I term" The Metaphysics of War."

There came a point , before I was any good, where I no longer wanted to be told how, exactly, to fight.I had my own ideas on tactics, as I started playing the game specifically to explore the validity of these concepts.As LS tried to tell me how to fight, I explained I had my own ideas, and was intent on using them. It was at this point, his instruction on tactics rebuffed, that LS and I parted ways. :cry: He beleived I had no respect for the community, and it's ways, so he said: but I think it was more a matter of ignorance and impatience on my part, along with my own sense of self , and a vision of how I wanted to make war on the SB battlefield.

I won't go too far into the sordid details of what this conflict degenerated into, except to say that I never had it out for him, and was never my intention to try and force him from the community as he vowed to do to me, publicly and otherwise. From his declaration of war, to dragging the GuNn into it, to him convinving Nikatori to get me to join the forums in the hope that a public display of my temperment would alienate me from the community, down to his specific promise in the " Ghost of loser LP Sabot returns" thread, wherein he vowed to" haunt me like a bad dream", he has been true to his word.

It is clear to me that this will not change. Their have been members who joined this community after I did, who already had a bad taste in their mouth for me before we ever met because the well had been poisoned by LS before I had ever spoken to them. I'm not implying I haven't trashed any relationships on my own, but I dont need any help.

I am not to going withdraw from this community.In the grand scheme of things, you lose, LS, inasmuch as I not going anywhere.I enjoy the game and usually enjoy the company.

I am going to put an end to this, however. It is over.I am going to withdraw from this game with Lonestar. In so far as it takes two to tango, I'm done dancing, and walking tightropes.I had decided some time ago I would no longer engage LS, and to my mind had done a decent job, even when he quoted me specifically .Not able to bait me in my person, he went after my unit, and my faith.He knew me too well to think I would stay silent.

I am done with this .I say here and now, I will not be part of the rancor emanating from this feud. From my end it is finished.I cannot stop LS from pissing in peoples ear, nor can I take from him his charming ways and powers of persuasion.

For this reason I post this, as I will no longer publicly defend myself from his accusations.I will no longer respond to him in forums.TS and games are not a problem, as we never argue in TS, and are generally civil, if not freindly(oddly enough) .Nor will i boycot games he is in.

Those who give him ear when he complains about Sherman would be best advised not to, and to let this die out. With no allies on this matter, with noone taking sides, this flamewar, like any fire, will die out for lack of fuel.

This quarrel must end, with the impending release of a new game and an anticipated influx of new players.They dont need to be involved in our petty rubbish. They can find their own.So i say now, Please dont come to me anymore with " LS said this, LS said that" and all would do well not to engage in the converse.

I now lay down my sword, and, in the immortal words of Cheif Joseph of the Nez Perce( whose campaigns are still studied at West Point) say:

Fine, I will say only this, your long posted inacurate history lesson for all to read, falls very short, in that, in less than 10 days, not all with battles invovling many others, as you say, I did cut you off, from any further questions of how the sim worked.. there were never any long AAR's with me leading the put downs of your ways, as you claim. It, our SB working relationship was over in less than 2 weeks of our meeting.. and I will not repeat the foul words you said to me in regards to tactics.. those you knew, and what I did not, in your words, but much uglier..

My biggest concern and fear was your ever-so proud public post, "that in every aspect of your life, I/you, use Clauswitz's Theory, to destroy the enemy's will, to continue the fight.." And with that, I feared, that any debate, different opinion, with anyone, you would do as you have done, to never bend, learn or agree with anyone, because it goes against this theory, that should only be used in wars, real battlefield engagments, not in post replys and ugly words and ego bashing.. etc, to justify your stance, and ours as having no basis of merit..

Yes, you quote my words well, as an outgoing MOD, that I feared, and rightfully so, that you were most likely going to cause rift among many, including me.. and to that, I stand my ground as right.. But, never without "hope" from an older heart, that can and has, been stepped on, over and over.. But, this old heart is willing to try, one more time.

I agree, that I will lay down my sword, with the agreement that we do not, especially from your end, PM each other anymore, or as someone wiser than both of us said to me, just delete them before you read them..

To that, I offer all that I have offended, past, and present, my apoligy, and wish, for the betterment of our community.. the only one I have, and most likely, will ever know..
