I’ve see a lot of requests for the M1A2 for SB2 and I've seen somewhat hopeful replies from eSim but nothing about the M2/M3 A3 model. Is there any plan to include the dramatically improved Bradley for the new version of SB? Will it be able to add the M2/M3 reactive tiles that are in heavy use in Iraq today? Additionally, which version of the M1A2 might be included? I’ve seen talk of IVIS which signifies the less potent standard M1A2 (v.1-6) instead of the M1A2 SEP which has become the standard for the M1 series of tank now. Thanks.

All I can say is very little
Dejawolf is making the Models . The rest is up to eSim Games .

Simply hoping the newest versions for currently present vehicles included if newer versions to be included. It would also be nice to have the armored M1114 HMMWV vs. the M1025. New UA MTOE's are relying heavily on the M1114 given lessons learned in Iraq. That includes the reactive armor package being used on M2/M3's which greatly enhance their survivability against dismounted forces. They were designed to mount it, just only fielded in a time of war. It’s much like the microwave ATGM jammer for the M1A1 that mounts where the CITV is located on the M1A2.
I mention these since the conversion seems fairly simple (granted, I have no game programming experience). The M1114 looks similar to the HMMWV already present, just has more armor. Add some boxes to the M2 and it has the armor package. FBCB2 is similar to the F5 map, just updated a little more often (that map is almost cheating compared to the accuracy/frequency of reports you'd get from a cherry PL IMHO :D ).

seems simple, will take almost as much time as creating a new model.
new lods, new TIS textures, remove old, make new fit into UVs of old.. yeah lotsa work.
estimated time to do those upgrades: 1 month.
thats including the programming.

From Global security.org:
A multi-year contract for 307 M1A2 Abrams Systems Enhancement Program (SEP) tanks was awarded in March 2001 with production into 2004. The current Army plan allows for a fleet of 588 M1A2 SEP, 586 M1A2 and 4,393 M1A1 tanks. The potential exits for a retrofit program of 129 M1A2 tanks to the SEP configuration between 2004 and 2005. Initial fielding of the M1A2 to the Army's 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas, was complete by August 1998. Fielding to the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Ft. Carson, Colorado ended in 2000. Fielding of the M1A2 (SEP) began in spring 2000 with the 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas, and continues. Rolling over of the 1st Cavalry Division’s M1A2 tanks to new M1A2 (SEP) tank began in 2001 and continues.
.................................................. .................................................. ......
Of a total projected force of 5567 M1s, a force of 588 M1A2 SEPs, is slightly more than 10%, hardly the"Standard" of the tank fleet.Nonetheless, I think it's unconscionable to include the Leo 2A5 and not include the M1A2 SEP in the release version of SB Pro PE.
As for versions of new armor just released, how exactly do you expect them to model it? I doubt the data has been released on the new armor to the point it can be accurately modeled for a sim like this.would seem to me that info would be classified, and if not, then why not?

I would not expect the M1A2 SEP and other updated and new vehicles in SB Pro PE unless the US Army purchases SB Pro and asks for them to be included in the package deal.

At this rate, it's gonna take SB_3 to have, or include, "Tank-fest", for all of us to ~ man your tank ~
 of choice.. lol

I would expect most of the reqiests not to be adressed, and those that get picked up probabaly coming in addon-packages for SB Pro. Maybe moddings by a dedicated community? I want the Leo2-A6EX ;)

Very true, the US Army already have multiple vehicles in SB, and several that will be playable in SBPPE (M1A1, M2A2...) and loads of Leos... :D

how long to include them (crewable of course!)?
What about japenese tanks? They sent us playstations or was it gameboys? both maybe? so why not some of their tanks in OUR game?

because they only have one kind of modern tank, developped recently, and getting info about it should be almost impossible!

It's not very likely that you're going to see Japanese Armor in modern conflict, so why add them, anyways? And they made the Gameboys, I believe Playstation was American.

Isn't it just a poor copy of the Abrams?

That's the South Korean Type 88 K1 that you are thinking of. It looks similar to an M1, but is smaller overall; hence the US nickname "Baby Abrams."

The Japanese Type 90 looks much more like a Leopard 2A4:

Guys, I think Topkick is right. I dont think we are going to see those top level US Tanks and APC's unless the US Army buys them, but I dont know, for sure. It would seem logical, though, since inclusion of M1 A2 SEP would hand a free top level simulator to them.....kind of a bummer. Why dont we take up a collection???? seriously...

I belive that the JGDF Type-90 could be used, sort-of.
Take a Leo2A4/5 and in the options menu twek the values you would want to sim a Type--90, wouldn't be best, but a work around.
The two tanks are very close, besides the electronics and powerplant.
Lookin on protection:
Leopard 2A4
Turret: 690 Glacis:600
Lower front hull:600
Ce-Turret: 1290 Glacis:710
Lower front hull:710
Leopard 2A5
Turret: 930 Glacis:620
Lower front hull:620
Ce-Turret: 1960 Glacis:750
Lower front hull:750
Japanese Type 90
Turret: 840 Glacis:420
Ce-Turret: 1430 Glacis:670
(values used for comparison only)
Falls between both leos, and with a autoloader.
looks like a Leo2A4 II....I like it!!

no playstation is japanese...
they could be in Irak. They are engaged there, arent they?Isn't it just a poor copy of the Abrams?
no youre thinking on the baby Abrams, the south korean one like DrD said.
anyway, the Japanese Type 90 was the third better tank of the world, after the Leo 2A5 (1st) and the M1A2SEP (2nd) but before Leclerc (4th) and Chally 2 (5th) according to an international classment (pdf version called tank assessment or something like that...). It was the third mainly thanks to its high electronic level.
just to make more advertissment for SB Pro in Japan!
let just we dream for the M1A2 SEP...
