I'm going to buy and emulator I found on the net this Friday. I'll let everyone know how it turns out. I've got a Dual G5 2.5 Gig w/1 gig memory and 120 gig hd space to test it on.
Stay tuned ...

well, there's a few old PC games, counter strike and half life, word processors, and stuff like that.
and also from what i know, it doesn't wear down over time like windows does.

FYI, The Mac's of today run a variant of BSD Unix (Darwin) so it can run most of the vast Open Source apps out there. Plus most of the major apps for windows are ported. Word suite etc. The one place that is lacking is games. Mainly because DX9 is not ported over (probably never will). Also the Havok engine's licence fees are very high. 6 figures I heard. WAY to much for a Mac developer.

Ssnake has commented on this before suggesting that eSim Games has no intentions of making simulations for platforms other than the Windows family of operating systems (OS). Ssnake, in previous posts, has demonstrated what appears to be a familiarity with Linux and it’s not clear to me what OS the Steel Beasts series is developed on. So, it seems eSim Games is acquainted with Windows alternatives, but for their own reasons, has decided not to develop for them.
I'm going to buy [a] emulator I found on the net this Friday. I'll let everyone know how it turns out.
Good luck with it and could you state the name of the emulator, where one could find it and any other useful information that might allow a future mac enthusiast to either pursue that same purchase or cross it off the list as an emulator that isn’t compatible.

the prime factor for not developing on other platforms, is simply time.
ok?

ok?
and why to develop that game for Mac while only a few people use that platform?
moreover, part of SB player in the world isnt very high, so considering that number of persons using Mac is already very small, so what would be the number of persons using Mac who would be interrested in having SB on their "computer"?
really low.
the solution would be to try to convert yourself the game for mac...
good luck.

It's not only the development time (which would be considerable, given that the code of SB relies heavily on DirectX API calls), but also the need for giving technical support and maintaining several versions in updates etc. There is no way how a team of our size (http://www.esimgames.com/company.htm) could handle that.

You mean the hobbyists and volunteers?
We don't list them because they could quit anytime. We certainly value their contribution, and couldn't do what we're doing without their help, but listing everybody who will appear in the credits would give a false impression of the actual capacities of our company.
