AFV Sim’s (Armoured Fighting Vehicle Simulation) products section states, “we are currently developing replica control handles…for the following armoured fighting vehicles which are featured in ‘Steel Beasts.’” The webpage then goes on to list the Leopard 1, Leopard 2, Mi Abrams, M2 Bradley and lastly, the reason for my commenting on the subject, the T-72.

The webpage makes no distinction between Steel Beast (SB), Steel Beasts Pro Personal Edition (SB Pro PE) or Steel Beasts 2 (SB 2) yet the Leopard 2 and M2 Bradley are listed, two machines that are known to have been announced for SB Pro PE. Is the T-72 included on the list because it’s featured in T-72 Balkans On Fire? If the T-72 is on AFV Sim’s products list because that tank is featured in T-72 Balkans On Fire then why are the T-55A and T-34/85, two additional tanks also crewable in T-72 Balkans On Fire, not listed?

Notes- AFV Sim’s products page was last modified January 3, 2005. No mention of T-72 Balkans On Fire could be found on the AFV Sim’s website including on the web links page. The T-72 is not listed as crewable on the eSim crewable vehicles list nor has Ssnake commented on its inclusion. There is no mention of a discussion of cadillacs on Battlefront’s T-72 Balkans On Fire forums.

T-72 might get crewable ~and gunnable~ in futur versions of SB .

I let Ssnake deal with that matter .

Cheers . :3starSK:

If you take a look in the FAQ, you can read:
· What vehicles will be added to SB2?

For the most part they aren't finalized, and we're scrupulous about not promising features until they're a "fait accompli".

Confirmed crewable: M1A1 Abrams, Leopard 2A4, Leopard 1A5-DK, M2 Bradley, M113, HMMWV.

Official word pending: Leopard 2A5.

Confirmed non-crewable: T-55.

Rumored: Either T-72 or T-80.

All other sources are hoax ;). Ssnake (or Hell Hound, dont know who fills the FAQ) are as sincere as possible with us in that FAQ...what i mean is that they lie to the other but say only truth to us (that means nothing :) ). Anyway, take a look in the FAQ. And ask a question if you want...

The T-72 is on our List, and we have invested quite some time into it. But it's not done yet, so we won't announce it before it actually works. But since we coordinate our development with AFV Sim to some extent, they know about out intentions to include the T-72, and therefore started working on the replicas.

Simple story, as you can see. :)

So the crewable T-72 include in the game in no longer rumored, its now confirmed.
what about the T-80?
by the way, has the T-72 missile?

No. I confirmed that there are plans and activities. There's still a remote chance that we'd fail or had to abandon the development for obscure reasons (I have not idea what those reasons could be, but technically it's possible still).what about the T-80?
I didn't say anything about it, and that was intentional. I'm not going to comment this now - especially in the light of your previous interpretation of my comment that just was a repetition of things I said in the past and not really contributed news (even though they may be so old that you don't remember anymore). ;)by the way, has the T-72 missile?
We'll let you know as soon as it actually is implemented.

so its probable, but not totally sure... with a probability of .5: or it is in, or it isnt.I didn't say anything about it, and that was intentional. I like that the T-72 may be in both SB Pro PE and T-72 Balkans On Fire (BOF). This would allow for comparisons to be made between the two based on objective criteria. Also, with BOF seemingly not attempting to be as complex a simulation as titles in the SB franchise, BOF could serve as a starting place for the next wave of virtual armor enthusiasts who could then have those skills carry over into a more challenging outlet with their tank of preference making the transition with them.

Notes-
I have not played T-72 Balkans On Fire, my impression is shaped by BOF forum administrator, Moon, who comments that “T72 is less nitty-gritty detailed than Steel Beasts II” (Moon, Similar to Panzer Elite).

The SB Pro PE preview on SimHQ, IIRC, didnt mention the T-80 being crewable.

No it didn't, but it also skips over the crewable Challenger 2 derivative equipped with the Royal Ordnance L30E3 electric gun.

You can also draw similar conclusions from the fact the preview did not mention the WW1 MkIV or Renault FT17 light tank.
