Today's featured vehicle is the ASLAV-25 (http://www.steelbeasts.com/modules.php?set_albumName=Light__vehicles&op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=view_album.php), quite similar to the US Marine Corps' LAV-25 (located in the same album). The big plus of this vehicle is: It's playable, though without a 3D interior.

Still no shadows implemented, in case you wondered. It's still the Land of Fullbright. But we'll get to that as well.

Nice looking vehicles. I notice that a couple of the axles still need to be painted.

Playable ASLAV, mmm. I've been wanting to gun in one since...

It'll be tough getting me in a tank, now. Big loss for the community, I know.

As a Dragoon , don 't expect to get a Tank so soon buddy TH . You 'll start with a HummerTOW , then 3 months on LAV , then another 3 months on Brad then maybe we 'll let you drive a Tank on the range ... :3starsk2:

Cheers . :3starSK:

SsnakeHuh?

The front axles on the new ASLAV-25 posted today are still transparent.

LOL, you know what, when it comes to fighting in woods, I would probably want to be in a Brad or LAV!

Maybe they appear so on that screenshot as they're 2D-objects, but only from a special point of view. Besides, we cannot model every detail due to polygon count restrictions. After all, we want to keep the frame rates reasonably high.

Well, to me it looks like incomplete work and not typical of Dejawolf’s normal perfection. If it isn't noticeable in 3D, excuse me for pointing out what I thought was a blemish.

well, this ASLAV-25 is based off of the LAV-25 made by sebastian müller. (so the LAV-25 would have the same problem area, i guess)
they were mostly made flat to.. yes, preserve polygons.
it's the same reason that none of the SB tank has torsion bars.
there would simply be a huge toll, both computation wise, since rotational calculations are much more demanding than linear movement.
and the polycount would be hitting 6-7000 polys per model.

nevertheless , it does look odd to say the least Deja ...

Nice models! Excellent rendering and awesome poly-counts. Love them tires on the Ural. The flora look great too! Say, what res are these pics being taken at?

awesome polycounts? hahah.

I don't expect every part, groove, or protrusion to be 3D-modeled on every vehicle. If they were, how many of us here would be able to run such a sim on our computer? So yeah, for what they are, I think the models look great! Happy 4th!

When this game finaly comes out, I think I'll be playing multiplayer until the end of the world. It will consume my life.

It is awesome how much detail you artists can wring from so few polygons and so little available texture space...!

The new LAAvs in iraq from Ozz had new anti RPG cages wrapped around them, but took them off deciding that  they were too dangerous to the natives, don,t want to get hit by a moving sheep pen do we...
