Do your(any nations) army have radio on a riflesquad?
If yes; do the squadldr carry it or a radiooperator?
Does the plt ldr carry his radio or does he have a radiooperator?

For some strange reason our armor rifleplts dosn't have squad radios, i think that it limit the initiatives on squad level. It also delayes information, and that you don't want on plt level...

As I recall, US Army squads have a one radio per squad. The radio is carried by one man (the RATELO-RAdioTELephoneOperator) who is not more than arms' length from the squad leader or the ASL at any time. Ideally.

The best equiped troops in Finland (Brig 05s etc. operational units and armoured inf) use SR radios at squad level. Squad leader operates it, as it's very small (cell phone size - attached to the back of the battle vest) and has a hands-free system that is used under the helmet. It's excellent to have these radios when fighting in built-up areas, because the LOS is broken almost all the time. In normal forests etc. it's not that important, but also helps some times. Older units have radios at plt level...

Some units specialized in urban fighting have personal radios for the whole squad, which helps even more when storming buildings etc.
