Greetings fellow forumites and Steel Beasts enthusiasts.

It is with great pleasure that I am able to introduce to you all the Gunn Shop webpage.

http://www.rocks.rule.btinternet.co.uk/index.html

RockApe built and kid tested... There you can find files, tutorials, etc of all things Steel Beasts.

The site is still under construction but will be fully operational very soon. Also it is the first of a series of planned sites being brought to you by members of The_Gunn.

Each of these new sites will focus on a slightly different aspect of gameplay, while mentioning something in all aspects of the game.

We appreciate any thoughts and comments regarding these sites and will consider requests for additional features.

Have fun and browse at your leasure.

:)

Hey! Nice sig file Werewolf.. :P

Sorry the sites a bit sparse on content as yet it's taking me longer than expected, (having never done this thing before) I've posted Moggy's Mods but I'm having trouble tracking down the rest of the files, if somebody out there can help.

The Tutorials Section will cover Skin making and Modding and I hope to have the first of these posted by the week end.

Thanks for the comments and your Patience Guy's.

I've got a few good things left over from my site. If y'all would like the pages I can zip 'em up and send them too you. In particular the Expert tips page which had writeups from many very good SB players might fit well onto your site.

Just what sorta "content" you looking for???

I've got the .bmp files of all the screenshots In The Family Photo album.

As well as The Pallette editor program, and the Terrian Making Program, and of course Nimo's skinner.....and so on.

Lemme know.

WOAH! Nice one fella's...

Werewolf ....I'll give those Expert tips a home for you, they were some of best stuff posted, it would be great to see them up again and full credits where due....

Boof ....I'm particulaly looking for some of the skins other folk have produced, I know "COBRA" produced a version of the SNOW MOD also, it would be nice to see that in the MOD Section as well. There was "BLACKBEAR"s Palm Trees, "SOMNUS"s Skins from the early days....Hell the list is almost endless.

My problem is that Old Faithful, an aging K6-2 machine got a bit of virtual arthritis and the hard drive became corrupted, I'm still attempting to pull bits and pieces off of it.

Again Thanks for the assist fella's.

The Vehicle Skinning Tutorial is now up!
I've tried to make it generic in explanation to accomodate different Graphic applications so there's no specific "to do" instructons aimed at any one package.

Let me know how this works guy's, if it needs embelishing more or more explination in any one area.

Enjoy skinning....

Gimme a place to send it to and it's on the way. Will zip it up and maintain directory structure. I'm sure you can change the img links as required.

Thanks for putting up the vehicle skinning tutorial! It's a lot easier than I thought it would be. I do have a question though.

It seems that I can't get rid of the underlying camo pattern completely without getting rid of much of the vehicle's detail. Click here to see my skin sample (http://home.attbi.com/~phlogan/Files/SBSkinSample.jpg). The side of the M113 shows this the most. You can still see the residual pattern and how it changes the color of the pattern I'm trying to use. Also, it looks like the M1 slightly distorts the pattern (it looks cleaner in the M1A1.bmp file). Any thoughts and/or suggestions other than going in and changing the file pixel by pixel before adding it to my camo pattern as a layer and using the plugin?

Again, thanks for a great tutorial!

you can use the lasso tool to select the darker areas, and then change the brightness of that part until it's similar to another grey on the image.
