View Full Version : A Time Frame... it is NOT too much to ask for

Okay,
I counted to ten after blowing up a few days back. While I am not privvy to the details, a showstopper over the dongle stills seems trite to me.
So, as one who has pre-orderd (and isn't sure if he'll retract the pre-order just yet), please give us a time-frame here.
I would urge eSimGames to bear in mind the importance of goodwill when conducting business.
At the price I've paid, I know I'm not your most high-profile customer, but I am your customer none-the-less.
I don't need a date anymore, but since you are clearly in the "end game," I would think you could give us a clear sense of the final steps and a sense of the time that will take.

Tarball, The answer is here: http://www.esimgames.com/purchase.htm
Which says: with an anticipated shipping date of mid to late January, 2006, although we cannot guarantee this date.
I check there first thing every morning for offical info.

The people posting those screenshots are the Beta Testers, scenario and map designers, and the artist that created all the vehicles and other stuff you will you see in SP Pro PE. Most of them don't making a dime for all the work they do. So far it looks like they've done a pretty damn good job.

So, dont pre order then. Stop making demands, you not paying for anything. I pre-ordered, and will wait patiently for the product to ship. ok, somewhat patiently
A time frame is better. give a specific date and something happens it not out, you will be whining about that. Stuff happens, they fixin it, point blank. You dont like it? fine, so be it, but I will wait patiently for my copy to get here

Rgr tht TK, along with a "strong desire" to do these artistic models, maps, sce's, testing, suggestions/ideas, etc., for us, and my hope that with their names in the "Credits" (well deserved) that it will lead to bigger and better (*paying) positions up the road for them..
*no offense meant in any way toward esim..
For most that know this, they have our sincere thanks and respect, and best wishes for their talents in these fields they love (or have a strong desire) to partake in..
Many thanks to the entire Pro B-Team, seen, heard, and the unseen and unheard..
And S-91, 37 days and counting.. IMHO (pure guess)

You know im a big e-sim fan,but the dont pre-order answer dont wash.i pre-ordered to w/ expectations that the sim would be out quite soon.the dont pre order excuse, along w/ the stop whining is not gonna make it w/ people who paid 125.00 dollars.they have a right to be a little "frustrated".e sim dropped the ball on this one big time, and they accepted responsibility for it.it happens.but people are getting tired of all the delays and i dont blame them.im not knocking e sim,i support them 100%.if i was bill gates id send a couple a million their way w/out the slightest hesitation.but all i can manage is 125.00 for now.i know they cant give a firm time frame, and ok for now.but they should learn from this for the future in terma of releasing info and stop being so secretive.whet peoples appitites a little and a little sooner.keep people informed of the progress of the sim, thats all people want is info.such as for example...july 26,2004..today we started beta testing here at e sim and the results were..yada,yada,yada.you get the point.i understand there is classified material, but throw the public a bone a little more often.
e sim keep up the great work and im looking foward to my copy as soon as i hear of a firm release date.

I dont get it, just because I have pre-ordered doenst mean that Esimgames must hold their deadline. a PRE - order is just that. you pre order it to get it as soon as it ships so you dont loose 2 days or so, its not that you preorder because it will be realesed tomorrow.
and all of you who claims to have been with this forums for years and start the whining now, havent you read the forums and learnt that Esimgames dont deliver untill they think it finished? Im started to get damn tired on the complaints all over this place, you all know that this situation have happend before and there was a BIG risk that it would happen this time as well, wich it did as well.
"What is a Pre-Order?
A Pre-Order is an item paid for before it is released. Often people buy Pre-Ordered video games, which sometimes include bonus features or mechandises such as a t-shirt. Pre-Ordered items are usually sent by mail to the customer, who probably bought it on-line where most pre-orders are purchased. Pre-Orders are packaged and sent to the customers as soon as the game is released on the market. The idea for pre-orders came when people found it hard to get popular electronics in stores due to their popularity, companies were given the idea to allow people to reserve their own personnal copy, which has been a huge success."
cant find anywhere that a preorder means that the maker of the game is forced to stick with a date. So calm down and wait, what does one more month do after 3 looong years mate? not a shit...
and if you think I dont want this Sim as much as you, go over to Ronner.net and register and chek out the 2 pics of the Strv 122 and CV9040B that dejawolf put up there, Ive been hunting for the CV9040 since i bought SB1 and from those pics it looks like it MAYBE will get into the sim before shipping, so be sure that the time spent because of the delay will be used to its full limit.

The problem is that a month ago it said December, and now it says January. I guess were stuck in some sort of time warp in which Pro PE is forever one month from release. :(

Yeah... forget mid January. It will be January 26th when they discover that not all of the dongles worked... the release date will be moved to Feb. 12th. Then there will be a problem with the CD going gold... that will take it to Feb 28th.... Let's not forget about problems with the carrier for shipping, someone won't be satisfied with them and that will make shipping move to March 10th.
Seeing how stupid my mail is... I figure PE will be lost for 2 extra weeks... that makes my timetable for delivery around the end of March.
FIX YOUR LITTLE PROBLEMS AND LIGHT THIS CANDLE!

Look old-timers (I am more in this category myself),
I'm over being patient with eSimGames - done with it. You can dance with the "cry wolf" syndrome and pretend everything is peachy, but I'm gonna pursue the issue until I have customer satisfaction.
If this title was supposed to be some off-the-shelf shooter, then I'd understand, but it has been clear to me for several years now that this'll be subscription ware. Every little bump in the road seems to throw releasing this title off. Give it to us now, we know it'll have bumps and warts.

It will be released, as soon as the dongle has been tested to work as intended, and the manual has been printed, and the CDs produced. We will test the dongle over the holidays, and will submit the PDF to the print shop as soon as they're ready to accept it. Once that the software works with the dongle, we'll freeze the code, and send out the Gold master CD to the CD production site.
I'll keep you informed about these steps. Keep in mind though that these companies close shop over the holidays, and close a few days more as they're finishing their books and recounting inventories and whatnot over the last days of 2005 (or during the first days of January).
There's nothing that we can do about these times. We only have control over our own work, obviously.

UGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!
As usual it is honestly no one's fault but that's a lot of steps. I don't need a printed manual... I'll take it on the CD if it will save steps. :) I'm thinking shipping late January and in our hands in February gentlemen.
"Cowboy up" for at least 2 more months guys, it's going to be a long wait.

I don’t think that I will get what I want with this, but what the heck. I'll give it a shot.
Ssnake, can you upload the PDF of the manual, when it is done, in the down loads section of the site? Please, pretty please with sugar on top.

Thank you, I'll shut up now. I don't agree with how it's panned out, but with those steps, I think I can see where the forest ends.

I wonder if we can do an SB-Lite using the same graphical interface as the interstellar battle in the TV series? Just replace the Space Cruisers (Triangles) with tanks (Squares)

Yes but then you would run the risk of your 3rd Guards Shock Army punching through the Fulda Gap only to be eaten by a dog due to some bizarre time space anomaly.

Ah well if they don't understand it only reflects their lack of cultural litteracy!
After all it was a book, a radio serial, a TV show and now a movie.
I appreciate that there was some overlap between Marvin the Martian and Marvin the Paranoid Andriod but people should be able to work through that.
I could start to get obscure by quoting The Goon Show - but since this is basically a US board those references would definitely be lost.
