joystick axis not recognised anymore

Wierd problem, ch combat stick and pro throttle.
Did not change the CH keymap file and everything work fine in CH control manager and in other games. X and Y Axis were perfectly fine in SB till yesterday.
What i did do was remove my racing wheel from the system and i assume that must in some way be the cause of this...but since SB only seems to see one controler i can't see how the wheel would affect it...
Tried shift-J which didn't help. Any way to get SB to see my axis again?
Delete the options file?...

Hmmm, maybe the wheel shared some file with your stick (reinstall it), or somehow, it was seen as #1 in your joystick program, and your stick needs to be moved to the number one slot..

Make sure your joystick is still set as the default controller for games.

Righty....indeed....default controler wasn't set...how silly. Been playing SB for years and never had to set it until now. The mysteries of life...
