Assume you're not able to upgrade your system.

Is SB Pro PE worth getting?

For example, with the following system:

AMD XP2400+
512MB
Radeon9500

If not, what is the first best upgrade that should be made? A stick of mem?

I'm just wondering if it's money well spent with a system as crappy as mine. Or if I should think first about getting a new one before I bother getting SB Pro PE.

Thanks in advance.

chek http://www.steelbeasts.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=6132

and "Anything over 2.0 gig (AMD XP2600+) or Pentium III 2.2 will do nicely , but the faster the better . " <--- Bluewing sayed that.

I would go for more memory. feels like 512 is a bit low

Get a new graphics card and you'll reach steering speed. (Take a look in the sticky thread to see what card you'll need.)
Doubling or tripling the RAM should also help a little.

I'd say upgrade the graphics card, and you will be ok. That card might run the game ok at lower resolutions.

I guess people have different definitions of aging... my definition would be a computer that meets the minimum standards... 512 ram is not all that aging as far as I am concerned. Aside from, MAYBE and this a big maybe, the graphics card you're laughing. MY system is aging...

1.8 Ghz
256 Ram
64mb GeFroce4 4200Go

So don't talk to me about aging young man! :P

5 bucks says you're the kinda guy who stayed home from school and possibly even went to the doctor because of a runny nose. (Just kidding ;) )

This is more recent recomendation then the one from eSimGames.com that is posted above. Atleast RAM and graphicscard recomendations above are outdated.

Memory and processor speed are fine. My recommendation would be a faster graphics card. The 9500 lacks a few critical DirectX 9 features which the 9600 already has, so if you can get an AGP version of the 9800 or NVidia's 6600/6800 you'd have a system very well suited to run SB Pro PE.
