The BLU-108 is a nice munition but it is in limited production and VERY expensive. It depends a lot on a FAC to get it on target... scout grunts could do it on a large target though if properly trained in forward observing.
Anyone notice the T-72 road wheels on the BMPs?

Obviously, the deployment was from a B-52, not a fighter-bomber - mud target acquisition might be a bit hard with the B-52...

Very impressive.
Anyone notice the T-72 road wheels on the BMPs?
That would not be a bad idea, since the original tracks is very easy to throw.
Holy crap!
Here's another video with some actual footage (almost 20mb):

When implemented, this could seriously shorten the average SB game...

Nice weapon .
Btw , ARTY can do that too . As an exemple , the French 155mm "Bonus" ammunition work exactly the same way and can be fired from 25 km away ...
Cheers . :3starSK:

Regarding the "Bonus" shell , it is indeed ~as Wahborg said~ a co-production in between GIAT and Bofors Defense (Sueden)
I said "CO-PRODUCTION" .

M898 SADARM munitions (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/munitions/sadarm.htm)were/are in use in Iraq. They were very highly rated by the shooters, too:

A tank cost more. :twisted:IRC, when I was a tanker in 1990, the Abrams M1A1HA was $2.8 million. I wonder how the price has gone up with the A2 SEP version 14 years later.

Volcano

Has anyone heard much about the "Metal Storm" weapons systems that were being developed.??
BlackDeath

i posted something months ago...
that arty is deployable by HMMVW and can acts as virtual mine field. If targets are in the sensor area, it will fire on them and aim every single target.
look there for more info

what happend when the BLU-108 is out of ammo? I suppose a guy on the field bring whats remaining back?

Cheers mate.Saw their promo video quite a few years ago.Was just wodering on their progress.Impressive watching the banks of barrels smash down all those hard wood doors.Gives you sort of a warm fuzzy feeling.Even heard that they might replace the Phalax system on Naval vessels with the Metal Storm system.A damn shame Ozz govermnent didn,t want it.Check out the video clips..I think at the beginning of the project the figures of 1,000,000 rpm where being thrown about.Hell, the Repeatable Access Denial System (RADS) firing 15 x 40mm inert grenade rounds at 240,000 rounds per minute is damn impressive.
