1) I know, that many members of SB forum are the veterans of war in Iraq.
2) I know, that many members of SB forum make beautiful scenarios for SB.
1)+2) = full set of scenarios about war of tanks in Iraq in 90th, day by day
Thnx, and nothing about this (20th of March, 2003) day in history :(
But this day is another data for new scenarios for SB ;)

Realistic scenarios covering tank battles in Iraq 1st Gulf War are boring. Little more than turkey shoots. A lot of guys seem to like turkey shoots though.

Boring - what does it mean?
Turkey shoots - what does it mean?
The tank's battles in Iraq 1st Gulf War are the best of example how to win the war. :exclam:

Boring=blah, humdrum, not fun
Turkey Shoot=Lot's of targets, weak ones, don't shoot back or if they do they miss, easy kills. In the US when you go Turkey hunting you often find them in flocks. If you shoot one they're often so fucking dumb the flock just keeps milling around while you shoot more of them thus "Turkey Shoot".

Steel Beasts is a tactical combat simulation. For entertainment purposes, there must be a challenge. Unless you make the challenge for the player to come out with zero casualties (for which the computer is not smart enough on self-preservation), T-55s with training ammo at night and 3000m engagement ranges simply are no challenge.
That doesn't mean there haven't been furious battles and no resistance. But while Desert Storm was a textbook example of a "Blitzkrieg" operation and how to win a war with minimal losses on your side, it doesn't make for a good base material for Steel Beasts Scenarios.

for those interested, you can download a mission that mimics the battle in iraq on the first week of 2003. i will try to reconstruct other battles as the war developes.
