Whenever I depress the "left" mouse button I'm getting no mouse cursor.

Occasionally, I can barely see it flashing, even though I can get the top "Menu Bar" to show.

I've tried using no AA to no avail.

This unfortunately makes trying to call in an Artillery strike impossible cause I can't see the cursor to select the options.... :(

I'm using 77.72 Nvida Drivers on my BFG 6800GT card.

Please Help!

I had that same exact issue with another game.

Let me toss it around in my head a while and see if I can remember what fixed it. I do remember it being somthing simple....I just can't put my finger on it.

Btw, check out the Nvidia 77.77 Drivers. I have had excellent results with them. In fact, they are the ONLY drivers I will use with my 7800 GTX. So far, everything else Nvidia has made has sucked (except for the 77.72s and maybe a few others).

All I can say at this point is that I am clueless, and therefore sitting back and collecting more info to come up with a solution. Chances are, it's a driver issue, although I cannot pinpoint which driver, or how to correct it. :o

You know, the more I think about I could have swore it was a driver issue. I could be wrong, but IIRC, it had something to do with the driver I was using and having FSAA running.

Try the 77.77s out. I used to use them with the 6800GT I had (and still use them in my 7800 GTX OC I mentioned above) and have had excellent results.

Hope this helps a little. If not, post back here and I'll help you try and locate the issue.

Thanks for the suggestions!

But still No Luck!

I tried the 77.77s and 81.98s from the Official Nvidia Site and I'm having the same problem.

Funny thing is that when I "Pause" the game the cursor appears. Don't think I'll be able to "Pause" in Multiplay though.

Also having no FSAA or AA running makes no difference as the problem still exists.

I FOUND THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!

It's my joystick (Saitek x45 joystick and throttle combo, I use it for flight sims as well).

When I unplugged the stick from my USB port and reloaded the mission;....... waala, the mouse cursor showed right up when left clicking (just like it's supposed to) and when I plugged it back in and started another mission....waala, it's MIA again.

In my frustration of trying everything under the sun, I realized that I had installed and played another game a while back, "Full Spectrum Warrior" and had this very same issue as well as many other x36-45 owners.

This seems to be specific to "X" series of joysticks with throttle combinations. The problem could be possibly related to the fact that the "AUX. 1" and/or "Mode Selector" switches on the throttle are always "Active" in the sim thus conflicting with the usb mouse, cursor?

Now if I can only find a fix or workaround.......???

Try sliding it forward and back once when you're in the 3d view, it works for mine. That workaround works in a few games that have trouble with the aux switch.

Tried that.....no joy! :(

Maybe it's something else, particular to this stick series, and this sim...????

Did you try the stick ONLY, with the throttle unlugged?

My Cougar HOTAS and my CH Fighterstick Combo both have a thumbstick on the throttle quadrant that also acts as a mouse. This has caused issues quite a few times in some games. Obviously, in a flightsim you need the throttle, so in that case you usually just have to "clear" the keymap for the thumbstick...something I'm not sure you can do in SB Pro PE, i.e., the little thumbstick may be recognized by SB Pro PE but may not show up in the "Controls" option list. If your stick has one of these thumbsticks, try using ONLY the stick and see if that fixes things.

Btw, turn the resolution up on your monitor. The 6800GT series (on up) likes higher resolution. More often then not, the higher resolutions will give you better performance than 1024x768. Try it and see how it works out for ya'. I used to run everything at 1280x960x32, then I went to 1600x1200x32 and never turned back. :)

Thanks for the ideas...!

I tried unplugging the throttle earlier in some missions and it causes constant panning and continous, element, order issuance.

I don't know if it's possible to use just the stick?

But I'm determined to keep at it here..... :?

Yes, it's possible. I unplugged my CH throttle device and the sim runs great. :)

MAKE SURE you set the now single controller to the "Preferred Device" in your Game Gontrollers menu in the Control Panel.

That should eliminate the constant panning. :)

O.K. Thanks for all the Help!!!

I think I got it taken care of, finally.

I created a "Profile" where the "AUX. 1" switch is inactive and so far it's working wonderfully!!!

So far (knock on wood) it's totally fixed the mouse cursor and I don't have to unplug the throttle. I just have to load my "Profile" before starting the game.

If anyone would like this Profile for their X45, assuming their having the same problem, just let me know and I'll happily E-mail it along. :D

Thanks for all the help guys...

Now, finally, off for some much deserved gunnery practice......

I guess that's why mine worked ok, I've always used a profile for steel beasts because I'd rather have the mag switch on the pinky instead of way up on the launch switch.

Could you email me the profile please? I'm having the same issue with my X45 - and my throttle isn't even plugged in.

Thanks :)

I'm a bit late to this thread but i had this problem with my cougar and found a quick way to resolve it. As stated in a previous post it's the microstick on the throttle that causes the problem.
To fix this with the cougar, go into the cougar control panel, in the axis setup section look for the microstick X&Y and click on the red plus sign. This will then change to a red minus sign, then click on the green padlock sign so that it changes to red, hit apply and the problem will be solved.
