Ok, got the installation issue fixed.

It was my DVD drive. For some reason, SB Pro PE did NOT like my Lite-On DVD-RW. It would not read the game CD at all.

Luckily, I found my other NEC DVD-RW and could put that in. The SB Pro PE auto-install fired right up and didn't miss a beat.

I'm not sure why it has issues with that DVD-RW, but I can say that the product does NOT have an issue with DVD-RWs in general. Softball said he had issues with his Plextor, and I had issues with my Lite-On, so those two may be DVD-RWs to stay away from (with regards to this sim). My NEC worked flawlessly though.

Btw, I also uninstalled Starforce using the Starforce Removal Tool, however, this did NOT fix the issue I was having. Apparently, in my case anyways (not sure about others), Starforce does not seem to adversely affect this product. It was only after I switched out my DVD-RW did the product install.

Here's my specs in case it may help with further troubleshooting byt the Esim Team and/or other forum members:

AMD 4000+ San Diego
ASUS A8N-SLI Premium
BFG 7800 GTX OC (Cat. 77.77)
SB Audigy 2 ZS Gamer
Western Digital 76.4GB 10,000 rpm Raptor HD
NEC DVD-RW
Comcast 4mb Cable Internet
Standard 3.5 inch. Floppy Drive

Well, that's all folks! Hopefully this helps out some other people that may have experienced this issue.

Now I'm off to go check out this sim! :D

I had that problem also, but my box has a cd rom in it also. My lite-on DVD-RW has always been picky. Some games/ DVD movies fire right up, some you have to load and eject 4 or 5 times for it to kick on, some will never get going. That's the price we pay for buying "cost effective" hardware. :P

A lot of DVD-RWs come with a list of CD/DVD manufacturers that are not supported by that particular drive. Must be something to do with manufacturing difficulties. Looks like Esim's production facility happens to have used one of the brands on that list. Not much you can do about that.

Note that there are DVD-RWs, DVD+RWs, and DVD-RAMs. Not all drives can read all these formats (but they should at the very least read CDs).

I had this issue also, and to solve it I ripped (with my another computer)the shipped CD from ESim and burned a copy to another disk. I then was able to install SB without any problems from my freshly minted disk.

Well, I'm just glad we don't have a copy protecton that might have made things even worse... :o
