The other day I finally bought a New PC screen for the final set-up of all the "stuff" I have purchased since it started back in Aug 05 for Pro PE.

Interesting choices and imput from the sales people..

First one I looked at, was a 20 inch wide screen by Hewitt-Packered, and the salesman said it was the best for gaming with a 5ms refresh rate.

I didn't go for it because it only came in Milk-white color only.. and the picture was no better than less expensive screens around.. blah!!

Another one, I kinda liked had a 4ms refresh rate, but the salesman steered me away from it, claiming that with such a "fast" refresh rate, that he saw some weird "spikes" in the changing pics/frame rates

So I wound up at Best Buy, and it came down to:

A 20.5 inch Widescreen 1000:1 contrast, high 1900 somthing x mid 1600 something resolution with a 5ms refresh rate for 550 dollars, but it was made by Gateway, along with the salesman said in viewing it compared to the Sony 19inch 700:1 contrast, it seemed like it was out of focus, that it was soooo sharp, it viewed hard on his eyes.. So I passed on it (it wasn't on) but from what I've heard of Gateway products.. I would have passed no matter.

I settled with a 19inch NEC 700:1 contrast, 1280x1024, 8ms refresh rate, with a Opticlear screen, for 449.00 dollars.

All based on what looked best in my eyes..

We shall see .. lol

Sometime in the near future I will roll my computer into the living room and hook it up to my 52" HD-ILA JVC TV and Bose Lifestyle 48 surround sound system. I just need to get the proper cables at the proper lenghs. My kudos go out to Volcano, brother those sound bytes are AWESOME!! In the mean time though I use my Planar 21.3" LCD monitor. It frickin great.

PR.. GFI (go for it) lol, as I know the power you have, as we dedicate our 50" Plasma HDTV to DVD concerts and movies.. and the SOUNDS are ROCK_SOLID along with the picture..

IF I dared venture out there with SBPpe in hand and pumped up the 3 subwolfers, the wife would call in an artty strike and finish IT !! (me  )

Lucky enough for me I have no significant other. My cat on the other hand will head for the bedroom and get underneath the bed. I was watching Master and Commander Far Side of the World during one of the battle scenes and the cat didn't care for the volume very much and went into hiding.

MM.. you, me and BD will be running out the front door.. no no no. lol

PR, it took us, and Battledog some time to get used to the realistic sounds. But the best one, and first jumping experience, was when we were watching a DVD movie, and someone knocked loud on the side glass window. BD went into full alert mode, he was laying next to the window and left speaker, Sheri was next, pissed off, and I was right behind them, pissed off asking out loud, who the hell would be dumb enough to knock on our window this time of the night.. ?

Last to convience, after ROFLOurAO, was BD, about 5 times thruout the movie, lol.
