Hi
Well, I have a few qestions about SB2, first, is there going to be night battles in the new game? Can you order the troops of the APC? Is there going to be improved AI?
Is there going to be helicopters in this one? One thing do miss in SB is when you are getting messages "xx unit is under fire" I want to be able to click on that message to go the map and see where that is, if you have many units under your command, it can be very diffecult to know where it is going on.
Thanks for any info

........
Yes.. you will be able to give them routes..and as I understand it.. be able to launch the tows by command.. faster than what we have now..

Is there going to be improved AI?
........
Count on it..

Is there going to be helicopters in this one?
.........
NO (positive about that)..

..............

Well, you can already.. in that if a unit says Under fire.. if you F5 to the Map.. you'll see any units under attack (or spotted enemy) showing up on the map as red units..
*Unless the unit lost his radio.. then that unit doesn't make calls that anyone can hear and any enemy units he sees does not show up on the map.. unless you jump into that unit yourself.. then the targets will be updated to the map.. ( I think )

Usually.. if large scenario.. say CoA.. CoB.. CoC .. you usually route them say A company North.. B company Central.. and C company South.. that way when say 32b taking fire.. you know its in central of map..

Hope this helps.. and welcome aboard.

Not yet implemented, but Yes. It's one of the top ten development goals, and missing it would be a failure which we're not going to accept. Can you order the troops of the APC?We strive for improvements on this issue, but I don't want to speculate aboout it at this point. Is there going to be improved AI?Depends on what you consider "improved AI". Per definition, if we add night combat and make the vehicle recognize night and call for illumination round when they "suspect" enemy presence, that is an improvement of the computer control logic.
If you expect vicious computer crews with dirty veteran tricks - no, humans are much better at this than the computer can be. We will be happy if the computer competently supports the player without taking away the decision making, and if the computer - if given a decent battle plan - can defeat a human player at least once in a scenario without the need to cheat. Is there going to be helicopters in this one? Most likely not. It involves a LOT of work for little actual gain if the gameplay is supposed to remain balanced and realistic. We want to complete the environmental simulation, and to refine infantry and artillery up to the point where 95% of all average players will be satisfied with their performance since these are the elements with which the player always has to deal in a company level combat simulation. Once that we're done with this area, we will start adding air threat/air assets. One thing do miss in SB is when you are getting messages "xx unit is under fire" I want to be able to click on that message to go the map and see where that isA good suggestion (although a quick hit on F11 may prove useful for your purpose already). I'll keep it in mind.
