View Full Version : On trucks - please confirm my understanding

Sorry, I just want to verify my understanding of a few things.

Trucks are intended not to work as troop carriers, but ammo carriers exclusively. Do I get this right?

A tank running out of ammo needs to enter the vicinity of an ammo carrier, and then - what? The option of reloading ammo from the menu - does this reload ammo from internal stores only (MGs for example), or does this command order the transfer of ammo from carrier to combat unit? Or must I give the command to reload the combat unit by swiotching to the ammo carrier?

The refueling procedures as explained in the demo is not animated, or haven't I pulled the according trigger command? I see the tanks parking on the small path near the fuel trucks, and then nothing happens. If refueling needs to be started manually, how do I do it, beside driving close to a fuel truck?

Medic vehicles are expected to be in vicinity of a unit that lost a crew member, they will automatically replace the poor guy, then?

Please confirm my answers, or correct them. Thank you. I do not want to publish wrong information due to my flawed understanding of things.

Just pull up alongside the fuel and ammo trucks, after a little while the stores will start to be replaced automatically, without any input needed.. the same seems to work for the crew casualities.

I wondered about that refuelling demo too..

I expected some kind of visual representation, the handing-over of a hose, for example, since the bridgelaying procedure also is fully animated. I simply did not see the small red text in the upper right corner until short time ago... ;) This my irritation.

Greetings all,

With ref to the fuel/gas Top up, when with in 30 to 75 mtrs of the Bowser stop and switch off engine. The gas wagon guys don't like it when you leave the engines running near their trucks.
As per the manual directions some of the refuelers can supply only a single vehicle at a time and others have multipul lines to top up two at a time. If you follow the refuel demo and shut down the engines when the troop elements have halted near the bowser the top right of your screen will show the top up % as it happens. Use the "shift F10" to cycle along the troop and watch the indicated bomb up of fuel. I've seen the last element and futherest away not get a full load up, only 96% before the lead command element wants to pull away.
The manual suggests that if there is avail. space to form a "coil formation" or "close formation", and be stopped for about a minute and not under attack.

Supply vehicles will resupply ammo and also repair most damage to other vehicles within the same or similar circumstances, stopped and not under attack. But the closer you can keep your elements the better.

Some sort of more obvious indicator is already on the List. (Probably just flashing text)
