Banshee-66, I just read that you were in 1st ID during Operation Desert Shield/Storm. What a trip! I was in 1st ID as an M1A1 driver too. I was in the 2AD task force that comprised your 3rd brigade. Remember that sign when driving through the Great Saudi Berm that read, "Welcome to Iraq, Courtesy of 1st Infantry Division, The Big Red One"?

I ETSed on 13May92 and spent a few days at Dix being treated like an asshole. What do you suppose that the NCOs in charge of outprocessing were trying to prove by being such dicks?

I really don't remember seeing that sign as we crossed the breaches in the burm going into the neutral zone, I do know it was made though, what I remember was watching the engineer vehicles breaching the burm at around 5 o'clock in the morning. So the sign was probably put up behind us or I just didn't notice it at the time. After the plow tanks breached the burm going into Iraq my tank was supposed to be the first one into Iraq for my task force.
But hey great to see a fellow Big Red One Soldier. :-)

I really don't know why they would of treated you that way. I was lucky, Sgt. Cooper the gunner on our tank helpped me out. He had everything planned out so everything went smoothly.

If you are playing around with SBProPE, and after I get used to it maybe we can do a few missions online. I'm still waiting on my copy. :(
