View Full Version : Something fishy with the FERO

When I try to shoot in Turm Aus mode using FERO, the controls are screwed: Tapping the arrow keys works OK, except that when tapping up & down FERO range is adjusted at the same time! I checked my key setup and FERO adjusting was set to SHIFT+NUM8 and 2. OK, I changed it, but still the only way to adjust the range was SHIFT+NUM8 and 2! I tried setting it to CTRL+NUM8 and 2 and to joystick button 10 and 11, but no effect. The new key is saved and can be seen in the key setup menu, but it will not work, only the SHIFT+NUM8 and 2 works. And tapping up/down also adjusts the range.
This is a "bit" annoying as when trying to shoot with FERO the range moves wildly around when acquiring the target! Anyone else has this kind of a problem???
I tried both Leo 2A4 and 2A5 - same problem.
By the way, is the 2A5 FERO sight correct? At least it's different in the Swedish Leo 2A5 (Strv 122)?

The GAS/FERO in M1A1 and Leo2 differs a bit regarding the keyboard commands. I think the English keyboard layout is optimized for the M1A1 and I know that the Swedish one is optimized for the Leo2.
The GAS/FERO range in Leo2A4/Leo2A5 (FERO-Z18) shall be adjusted by using the arrow keys. Use the arrow to get right distance and then use the mouse or joystick to put the crosshair at the target and fire.
The FERO in Strv 122 (FERO-Z18-A2) is a bit different. You don't adjust the range, you just use the reticule and put the right distance marking on the target and fire.

The problem is that when I go to turm aus mode, the only way to rotate the turret is with the arrow keys! I have no problem when using 2A5 (the electric motor - uses joystick/mouse) or 2A4 with Beobachten/Stab ein, but when in turm aus, you just have to use the hand cranks... Then it's no good if same button moves the turret and changes the range in FERO...

You are right. I didnīt try the Leo2A4.
I have same problem with Leo1 and Leo2A4 with GAS/FERO in Turm Aus. The arrow keys moves both reticule and gun.
But the Leo2A5 works OK even in Turm Aus because you can use the mouse/joystick to move turret/gun.

So outta curiosity... given that we're hearing about bugs getting fixed, what's the timeframe for patches coming out?
Once a month? Once a quarter? Once a year?

We don't like committing to a rigid release rhythm. There needs to be a "critical mass" of changes in the first place, and a stable version. Both are necessary conditions to release an upgrade. In addition, we do not want to flood you with too many upgrades, so I think that we're going to release something for the Easter holidays, and then something in summer ("summer" could be anything from late June to early September).
