I am getting used to the need for level ground when trying to TOW with the Brad.

However, I notice that the missle will dive for the ground under certain circumstances:

1) The target is above me
2) The target is above me and at or near max range.

I've made a scenario where there are BRDM-ATs up on a hill. The BRDMs are excellent foes in this situation, but I can't get the Brad to respond with a TOW show because the TOW missle will travel for a few seconds and then take a downward trajectory.

What to do?

Thanks,

T-

I have noticed that the TOW does not shoot over burning vehicles. Also, it seemed to malfunction over water.

Which it will do in RL as well. Fire will cut the thread, and soaking the thread will mess up the link as well. It IS possible to fire over water, but you need to be aware of the altitude difference between the trajectory and the water...if the thread gets submerged, the missile will plummet to the ground...

Firing uphill will make the missile lose speed much faster. Remember, it's a boost-glide missile - after a short initial boost phase it's getting slower and slower, so shooting uphill will eventually result in a stall - and crash.

Makes sense. Since we couldn't fire the TOWs ourselves in SB1, I never had a true sense of their capabilities.

How does a TOW know that it's being fired over a vehicle fire or other fire 1000 meters away?

Actually, I don't know. But maybe Al also took into consideration that a strong heat source could make the tracker unit of the TOW lose the beacon at the missile's rear if they come very close to each other during the flight.
